This game has a great way of making you look silly if you don't pay attention. So I wondered how many others, like me, have done really stupid things in the game. Things that make you say to yourself 'what the hell was I thinking?'
For me a few hours ago it was Autopiloting my new fitted Raven to an Agent in Gallante space. That would have been fine if I was not in the Caldari Militia. Luckily I heard them shoot me and rushed to the computer in time. I burned my cheese on toast

-missing a few zeros and selling my fully fitted raven on contracts for 1.2 mill instead of 120 mill
-missing a few zeros and selling my unfitted drake on contracts for 3 mill isntead of 30 mill.
-notice a theme 
-Setting my alt to AP in a maelstrome within high-sec, minimizing window, opening it up 45 minutes later, floating 20km from a gate in 0.0 (providence). Oh, and with about 10 ships sitting on the gate looking at me like WTF are you doing Amazingly they didn't kill me, I got out, and manually piloted the jumps. Didn't think AP could even do that. Some glitch.

I was ninja salvaging out in Motsu in a Catalyst. The mission runners had just started the mission when I warped in. (Attack of the Drones me thinks) They saw me salvaging one of their wrecks and warped out. I thought to myself, "Ha! I made them warp out!" Forgetting that now all the drones are on me. Catalyst did not last long enough to warp out.
Mission runners come back to mission, have great lolz in local. Attempt to ransom my wreck back to me. I just hung head in shame and docked in my Ibis for a few hours to get drunk.
That is the dumbest thing I have done in my Eve career.

I have done many. Highlights include:
Jumping my fully fitted abaddon into a 0.5 system bordering lowsec, then going afk. I had -9 sec status.
Jumping my fully fitted apoc with new rigs into a concord system. I had -8 sec status.
Going afk whilst gatecamping in lowsec cos of a video i noticed on ****hub. *Poof*
Setting up a POS.
fake edit; i also remebered, in that concord system i then got podded by a budding megathron pilot who liked the 75m bounty on my head. byebye implants.

I`ve lost 2 bill worth Nightmare in a mission.
Doorbell rang while I was clearing a mission pocket, I clicked "warp to 0" to the nearest planet(or so I thought)and alt/tabed EVE.
I came back after few minutes and enjoyed the look of a Nightmare wreck, it looks awesome heh.
Couldn`t stop laughing at my stupidity for few minutes, called myself idiot few times then I moved on.

Today I jumped my Harbinger into a .5 system even though I'm -9.1 sec status. At least I got someone to pick up my stuff.

Warping away from a station in my sniper Muninn with a Carrier agressed on me, going afk for a few secs while in warp, returning to pc to find myself in safespot being attacked by Fighters which killed me before I managed to warp off again. Yes I forgot they chased in warp.

Autopiloting a hauler across hi-sec during a wardec. That didn't end well.
OTOH, once in a low SP alt I set my ship to autopilot around the long loop of systems in Catch to see how far he'd get before -A- caught and podded him. His ibis made it all the way unscathed.

I picked up the mission Cargo Delivery, which has a few million units of veldspar in it. So, I decide to fly out in my hulk. Mine a few cans, haul it back, fly back to some other rocks and some rats spawn. I'm thinking damn, 6 rats...that's more than usual. Pull in my mining drones and keep plugging away with my lazers. Launch my other drones to kill off the threat. Hmm...that's going through my shields pretty quick. Maybe I should warp.
Long story short: 3% hull when I warped and a heart rate of about 145.

Then making the unwise comment in channel........."what, that's all you hosers got?!?"
Subtract one Hulk from the verse plz.

Some highlights:
1. Flying a bustard with about 8-10bil worth of stuff I collected over a year, bpo's,T2 bpc's, etc through HS. No problems so I decided to do the very last system on AP, of course there's where the gankers were waiting, lost it all. Start again.
2. Putting 2 alts on separate occasions on AP to deliver a few 100mil in T2 mods to a 3rd alt in Amarr space, Amarr hates them passionately and killed both ships. Friendly pilots were on hand to quickly loot the wrecks, doh!
3. Changing a deathstar POS password to what I thought it was suppose to be, neut Obelisk with an Orca and 1bil worth of fuel warp to POS, bounce of shields, pops 30 seconds later. Guess who had to pay for that one!
Obviously made some dumb decisions while pew-pew'ing, but nothing as disastrous as the above. And I'm posting with an alt cause this is just too embarrassing, lol!

Just bought your first battleship (Dominix), it was a few hours old, I fitted it, insured it etc etc. Did a mission in lowsec, got jumped by pirates, got ransomed by pirates, got blown up by pirates and podded by pirates. Then the pirate leader offered me a new Dominix in trade that I must add 60 mil to his bounty. I never saw my new Domi 
And yeah: I was drunk that night

I was doing a lvl 4 in a proteus (full faction/ds fit) killed all the rats so i flew my alt in with an orca and salvaging ship in ship bay, changed out proteus for a salvage catalyst, then a new spawn triggered. The orca was pointed and immediately primaried with the proteus inside. Catalyst was 40k away from orca with no propulsion mod \o/
Long story short, orca got out in in low armor thanks to its drone bay :)

Accidentally reprocessed dozens of T2 modules after mistaking the reprocess button for repackage.
Transporting capital blueprints through high-sec in a shuttle on autopilot. No prizes for guessing what happened.

Putting up a contract on another character for 10bil rather than 100mil. The contract tax hurt.

Was trying my hand at the trader game, missed the decimal point when setting one of my prices for a region-wide buy order. Was automatically filled by sell orders instantaneously... lost about a hundred mil there. At the time that was pretty much all I had

I once accidentely sent around 50 mill to the wrong character, had a really similar name to the one intended.
Never really been scammed apart from that though.
Rest is just common stuff like forgetting to accept mission before undocking and forgetting to take cargo etc...

Doing a simple L1 mission which involved approaching a Gallente battleship and warping back to the agent several seconds later. I figure it's a battleship and although the mission warns me not to shoot I'll take a quick cheap shot at it just as I'm about to warp. Well, I learned that when a mission tells you not to fire on something in big red letters you don't fire on that something. I figured it'd have to lock on to me and I'd be gone by then. I was wrong.

An ex corpy fell asleep while drunk and ratting in a 0.0 belt. Woke up a few hours later to find himself in a pod. The ship he lost? A Thanatos!

So today I thought I'd try out my new exploration ship... a slightly pimped Loki, cloaky version with roughly 1.2 billion isk in fittings.
I've been waiting for this ship for about a week, working out what subsystems to fit, then what modules, and gathering the moderately hard to find fittings for it.
I took it out in the afternoon, scanning some low sec systems for radar sites, and found a system with 2, but there were pirates flying about, so I thought I'd head back to safe space for now. In the evening, I saw that the area of lowsec I was interested in was deserted, and so went over to do the two little radar sites I'd found.
I wanted to test the tank in the field a little, so I let the NPC's accumulate while I hacked the cans. As expected the tank was fine and ran forever with all the spawns shooting at me, but a few were webbing and scrambling me so I started taking out the NPC's after a few minutes.
As the NPC's cleared, going from cruisers to frigs, to closer targets, a trio of little sanshas frigates, orbiting me at 4 km just going 350m/s just refused to be hit. My guns track at 0.10, they've got 0.07 transversal... what gives?
Well, I still don't know what was wrong, but with a few dozen cans surrounding me there were these three frigates, bounty totaling maybe 50.000 isk, keeping my 1.85 billion isk ship locked in place, 20.7m/s and scrambled. No web, no drones (cloaky fit doesn't allow any), no tracking comps... and barrage ammo, what exactly had I been thinking when I designed this thing?
I sat there for about 15 minutes trying out different things, trying to find someone I knew in the local area who could rescue me from these damn frigates. Eventually I found someone to help me, and I switched to another character (tank runs permanently, even when not logged in) temporarily while they headed my way.
When I came back to my main character 10 minutes later when my rescuer had arrived, the entire site had despawned... I could leave whenever I liked and I'd wasted their time.
The ease with which any even pretty damned incompetent pirate could have scanned me down and killed me is mind boggling, and I'm damned lucky local stayed clear for all that time. I pretty much deserve to have lost that ship, but it lives to die another day... with a rather different fit mind you.

Bought a Caldari racial ship skill for my new Gallentean character.
Volunteered to use said character as a scout for a corp mate doing "Two Steps into Hell". I recommended him to choose it over the safer one. The 43m reward, 33 jumps from high-sec to 0.0 including 10 low-sec systems courier mission in the Caldari epic arc. At 11pm on a Friday.
Where the hell were the camps? Seriously.

-Back when I was in a noob corp, we finally managed to build 10 Thoraxes by ourself (that was a big project back then) but when I put them on the market I accidentally sold them for 1 isk each.
-Once I was traveling through Low Sec with my Arazu (mostly cloaked) and I reached the last system to go (High Sec Border System), was already in warp but suddenly got a phone call and totally forgot about the game. When I came back after 10 mins, I was sitting at the gate uncloaked, 10 pirates around me but still alive.

Using a Buzzard to scan out wormhole. Going in popping probes and cloaking up, (or so I thought) and then warping to a sleeper spot. Next thing I know I see a bright blue beam rip across my 0km moving ship and do full damage popping me. And of course, due to the amazing game of chance of losing faction gear all my sisters gear got destroyed but luckily my T2 CPU Enhancers survived, like that mattered to me.

If it makes you feel any better, I add zeros instead of missing them. I once bought two Cov Ops skillbooks for just over 100 million 
I also lost over 350m in faction ammo AP'ing to Jita back when I thought suicide ganks were something that happened to other people.

I mistyped a solar system name so instead of ending up in high sec I ended up in low. I activated the autopilot and went away to make dinner. Suddenly I hear the familiar sound of somebody locking me and rush back the screen to see a rookie pirate in a Stabber taking pot shots at my immobile Slasher.
The Slasher got some negligible shield damage and the Stabber got wasted in a few shots from the gate sentry guns. I do not know who the biggest fool were but we both had a good laugh and I gave the pirate back what modules that were left in his wreck.

Going into a wormhole with a buddy who was in a Drake, I was in an Anathema. Letting him play with sleepers, while I forgot to scan the system for other people... Then a Thanatos warps in with a fleet...
