I've got 2 accounts now and am looking for the best ship combos to be able to do L5 missions myself.
It was recommended a Kronos/Nighthawk combo would be able to handle things, but I was also told 3xSpider Tank Dommies putting out 15 sentry drones was also a great method as well.
Anyone here run L5 missions by themselves? Have you found a combination that works for all L5's?
I'm fine with creating a 3rd account as long as I have a solid plan...

Originally by: Amy Winter try to look in eft at shield tanked passive ishtars with one shield transfeer mod running forever. 3x accounts 3x ishtars with 15x sentry drones.
warp in all 3 ishtars at same time, drop container and start orbit it. start tank, spider tank between the 3 ships. drop 15 sentry drones
boom
Would you say this works for any and all L5's? Is it better than the NH passive tank combo?

So, I have a 36M Gallente Drone/Dommie/Railgun/Armor tanker and a 25M Caldari Raven Missile Boat/Shield shooter (they have other skills OFC but those are the combat ones).
My main 36M is going to fly the Kronos/Orca and I'm training my alt 25M to fly the Nighthawk.
The question is what should I train my 3rd character to do out of the box as I build them from scratch? Should I create Gallente or Caldari, and what focus? --- CuddleMonkey! |

From what I can tell here, it seems the recommendation is Passive Shield Tanking with the 3rd focusing on DPS more than logistics support.
My main is Dommie/Hybrid/Drone (full sentries T2 Heavies)/Armor tank (who can shield tank too), my alt is Raven/CNR Shield Tank who doesn't have drones yet, and the 3rd is "new".
I'll be in Orca/Kronos in just a week or so, but a NightHawk will take a bit longer (75d right now).
The 3rd account is "new" (only a few days now).
So the question is what "safe and solid" 3xgroup should I shoot for first? Could I really tank with a CNR better than a NH?

Actually I'm going to start with the Dominix, mainly because of the drones and assist feature, making it easy to target things.
I can have 425MM Ogre, and Garde T1's up in 18 days with remote armor repair.
IMO that's the best winner right now as my 1st goes to Kronos and 2nd trains to NH but uses CNR in the meantime...

Can somebody post a good passive Drake tank fit? Also, same for NH/CNR, etc? I'm curious what these setups look like.

Contralto, what sort of 3xSpider Tank setup are you thinking of using? (ships/fittings, etc) --- CuddleMonkey! |

heh not looking for cookie cutter ship buildout; I've already done a ton of research in BattleClinic and build out many ships in EveHQ (which is awesome btw).
I guess the big question is what's the max I'll have to worry about tanking on the toughest L5 and what's the max cap drain I should expect? I believe somebody said 8xIII NTs were in one mission so 40x8 = 320/s drain, correct? That's where passive tank is 100% necessary, and the firepower to pop the towers - BTW what range are the neut towers usually at? --- CuddleMonkey! |
