Edited by: Johnathan Roark on 06/09/2009 17:55:58 Nope, thats just shoving a string into a variable. Here is a basic example. I suggest you use one of the libraries, either Yapeal or ALE.

Edited by: ChriztaneE on 06/09/2009 19:13:06 Thanks :D
I'd had a look at ALE, but mostly wanted the basic example, since ALE is a bit confusing to me. I guess though it would be best to use this in lenght. (Would be nice with a better explenation -> some problems with intergrating the MySQL database and paths..) Maybe when I get a better look at it again.
Thanks once more.

Taken from the Basic Example I get error on line 20 and no output from the Caracter Sheet.. Might the API have been updated since this post? Anyone who can fix this little code?
<?php // Populate the following with your API Data $apiKey = "API KEY/LONG:NUMBERS+CHARACTERS"; $userID = "USER ID/NUMBERS"; $characterID = "SCREENNAME OR NUMBER? (ChriztaneE or 1/2/3?)";
// Create the URL to the EVE API $eveAPI = "http://api.eve-online.com/char/CharacterSheet.xml.aspx?userID=".$userID."&apiKey=".$apiKey."&characterID=".$characterID;
// Get the xml data $xml = simplexml_load_file($eveAPI);
echo "Charactor Name = ".$xml->result->name."<br />"; echo "Charactor Race = ".$xml->result->race."<br />"; echo "Charactor Gender = ".$xml->result->gender."<br />"; echo "Corporation Name = ".$xml->result->corporationName."<br />";
// Loop Through Skills foreach ($xml->result->rowset[0] as &$value) { echo "Skill Number:".$value['typeID']." -- Skill Points: ".$value['skillpoints']." -- Level: ".$value['level']."<br />"; };
?>
Anyone?

Yes you need the number.
Hint: If you want to get a list of chars of an user and to see / extract the specific IDs look at this xml page: /account/Characters.xml.aspx
assign the (limited) api key and the userid and you'll get all the charnames including their ids.
http://api.eve-online.com/account/Characters.xml.aspx?userID=***&apiKey=*** returns a xml with all the chars including ids, and corps of that specific user
==> so users / you don't have to submit their charname or -id
