Which client version are you patching from?
Latest client was 99186, and the patch can be downloaded here: Win & Mac
Please provide us with more info like what version you are trying to patch, what ISP you are using and what operating system your machine is running. ------------------

Hi,
I'm getting a time out on the webpage url and this from the client when trying to download the patch.
Unable to download file o2/evepremiumpatch99186-101786.exe from the server. Error: [Errno socket error] (10060, 'Operation timed out', 'thread::connect failed with error 10060: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.\r\n')

Hi CCP Gangleri
I'm on Windows XP, and my ISP is Virgin Media (they're crap I know lol) Trying to patch from the previous version up. When I click on the 'download' button I just get a 'website cannot be found' message

Can't get access to automatic or manual patch either. The automatic patch gives the following error the manual one says page not found
There was an unexpected error while retrieving update status:
Unable to download file o2/evepremiumpatch99186-101786.exe from the server. Error: [Errno socket error] (10054, 'Connection reset by peer', 'IOCompletionWsaGetOverlappedResult failed with error 10054: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.\r\n')
Do you want to go to support page?

Hi there,
Trying to download the eve client on a different computer and I'm unable to do so. All I get every time I try to download the windows client from the download page is:
'The server at ccp.vo.llnwd.net is taking too long to respond.'
I am also using virgin media (they're not that bad) and on win xp.

virgin media here also with the same issues. none of the computers in my house can dl it, other folks in the local area on other isp's have no troubles. i imagine its a wider issue with the isp as a whole bunch of websites are currently inaccessible to me. keep us informed.

Theyre a boatload more reliable than most others but when they have problems they tend to be bloody irritating ones i'll admit. Plus depends whether you use virgin media adsl or cable. I'm on a 20mb cable conn and its been pretty solid apart from the odd hiccup

Come on, that's not exactly true. I had many problems during installation a few years ago due to insufficient signal strength (was ntl at the time). Other than being a bit slow with their promises, my VM cable has been solid.
I am having the patch problems though. Still, thank God for AWU 5 training :)

They are not, not by a long shot. I have been with VM since they were cable and wireless and problems with them have been few and far between. Only thing is they tend to be a bit slow on the repairs. I have found them to be far more reliable than adsl providers though. (I seem to be the local go-to guy for computers lol).
Its not a DNS issue though, 'cos I am getting it and use OpenDNS servers. Must be a routing problem.

Meh, it must be a local problem then, I've been through a few spells where I would get repeatedly disconnected for days if not weeks. Hasn't been as bad recently though

Agreed, they were briefly Coventry Cable when we first moved into our house :D. The best thing about them in those early days was the IRC channel visited by some actual engineers! They'd get someone out if you had a problem, and were immensely helpful. Got sacked by ntl of course :(

thought ccp`s data servers where in london, why would that be affected by us routing issues?
And like the above cant connect to the patch server, or even the full client download.
First real problem i have had with virgin media in 6years of use. |

There was an unexpected error while retrieving update status:
Unable to download file o2/evepremiumpatch99186-101786.exe from the server. Error: [Errno socket error] (11001, 'getaddrinfo failed', 'thread::getaddrinfo failed with error 11001: No such host is known.\r\n')

Then i go to support and every link to download patch, and via torrentwill not work...

been with them about 5 6 years now, in that time ive lost connection (to the net as a whole, or just to certain places like today) about 3 times. before that i tried 3 or 4 other providers and every one would **** up several times a month.... imo vm hasnt been at all bad for me, only problem is when something does happen it takes them a day or so to straighten it out, oh and dont call tech support. jesus wept, dont call tech support!!!

Temp workaround, its only the patch server that affected. Get a trusted friend with access to download the patch for you and forward it on to you, ie someone not on virgin media isp.
Worked for me. |

I am extreamly impressed with my virgin media cable service, and I am experiencing the same problems. I have no doubt this will be sorted in a reasonable amount of time.
