You're an idiot.
How can I possibly be an idiot by contracting a highly contagious disease? _________________

By insinuating that you've used an anti-bacterial agent against a virus-borne disease. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Not necessary since it doesn't change what he insinuated:
This summer I've had […] swine flue […] I felt better then last time I had a regular cold. Antibiotics <3 ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Technically, it doesn't make him an idiot, it makes him ignorant.

In fact, the idiot is you. He never even insinuated that he was using antibiotics to treat the flue. Your reading abilities are astoundingly poor and your abuse of ellipses is pathetic. Two thirds of the diseases he mentions and a full 100% of what you ellipsed out are treatable with antibiotics.

Yes he did, as shown.
Quote: your abuse of ellipses is pathetic
My use of ellipses is entirely accurate.
Quote: Two thirds of the diseases he mentions and a full 100% of what you ellipsed out are treatable with antibiotics.
Irrelevant, since he talked about all three as a unity and insinuates causality between the use of antibiotics and their (all three) not being any worse than a regular cold. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

In fairness, they do need to be smacked around a little from time to time. Stops them from getting silly ideas about grammatical conquest.
If only someone had abused the comma more the world would be a much better place to live in.

Flue: Part of a chimney, fireplace, furnace, etc. Flu: Short for influenza, an infectious disease.
Treating either one with antibiotics would be pointless, but if you want to pass yourself off as an expert on a subject you should probably begin by learning to spell its name.

Have you even tried to treat a chimney with antibiotics or do you always just blindly assume such things?

IF you spend your life in a bottle you will never get sick, BUT It will make your more susceptible to sickness when you leave the bottle.
In other words you have a immune system and its job is to keep you healthy and the less you work it more likely it will fail when you need it.
It really is a no win situation, and there really is such a thing as too clean can do more harm then good.
The only thing that makes swine flu more interesting is that people with very strong immune systems are at more risk. people with strong immune systems have bodies that over react (aka, the immune response is what is dangerous), which is what kills them thus why under 25's are told to be more careful.

The H1N1 virus causes bad cases of conspiracy theorizing. You really should get to the doctor _NOW_ before it's too late and you die.

Had the swine flu 2 weeks ago. Was excited, expected media attention, quarantine and being a ressearch object - left disappointed only 2 days in bed, not much worse than last years ago. Didn't even get a bloody t-shirt. At least I managed to get a whole week off work.
4/10 for the swine flu, would only do it again for the week off work

You do know that antibiotics have ZERO effect on flue? That flue is caused by a Virus, and antiBIOtics have no much use against something not BIO ?

While the person you quoted is wrong (antibiotics are used to cure bacterial infections/diseases, vaccines are used to strengthen the immune system against viral diseases), you are even more ******ed. A virus while in the host acts very much BIO, outside is a different thing. The 'Fendahlian Collective' strikes again |
