You forgot to mention the DD through POS shields. That was my personal favorite.

Mittens:
Quote: Yet while the gross imbalance of the remote doomsday was restrained, the number of doomsday-bearing ships was rapidly proliferating. Revelations II ushered in the era of the "Nano Titan", Titans which could fire a doomsday and align to warp out within fifteen seconds.
Not at first; remember? Remember when Bob's guys were buying top-tier Officer cap rechargers which had no stacking penalty in order that they could DD and recharge their cap in 10 seconds, and jump out of system?
That got nerfed first with the "can't jump out of system for 10 minutes" thing, and that's what ushered in the nano-titans.

just curious what will this mean for titans ... i mean depending on the strength of this single target doomsday .. wouldn't it just reduce titans to glorified jump bridges ?

90% of titans already fill this role anyways. Very few 0.0 entities use titans offensively, they're mostly just used to help with logistics and occasionally drive off an enemy fleet. I think the titan will work better in a support role, since it's a whole hell of a lot easier to kick off an invasion with one in your possession. Just the fleet bonus that those things provide alone can be a lifesaver. If they can make clone vats not suck, either that'd be a plus.

I think it would be cool if the turrets on a titan were useful.. The DD modual would just super amplify the capital turrets & repair systems. The Titan would still be able to warp with this active but the power requirements to keep it running would be very very extensive.
Example: if a titan locked 8 ships (BS or smaller) and fried a gun at the ships the fire power would be so great it would kill that ship and any other ship in that same line.
The shoot would not look like a normal hybird, laser, projectile, or torp but something in slow motion so everyone could see it but quick enough so most ships could not move out of the way.
It would not matter how tanked a BS, HAC, or HIC was tanked if you were in the line of fire you popped. Tracking on these guns would not be an issue they can hit just about anything they target because the size and power of the shot.
The only ships able to take hits from guns on a titan would be capital ships. This would be the only time the guns on a titan would actually use the damage modifier for the turret.
100% instant damage on all sub-capital ships 50-80k per gun hitting a capital ship. 1 min rate of fire per gun 100% tracking quick lock times
I think this would be pretty cool. They would still be a hug asset on the field making them worth the isk but not an instant win button.. Basically 8 kills very 1 min plus any other lucky scores with ships on the same line.

Doomsdays have balance issues, agreed, however...
Related topic that inflates & complicates Titan issue: Stupid amounts of isk generated by R64's making "crapping out Titans" possible.
Would this be such an issue if there were only a handfull of Titans in the game?

They will probably nerf this by messing around with the other r64's, but having CCP nerf every money method when the market inflates it's value is going to lead to bigger issues down the line.
There are R64's around Init space, and in lowsec closer to your space than the owners. Why don't you go for them? That is what CCP should be addressing.

A fair question, but my question is not really specific to myself nor my Alliance, but in general. If those moons did not generate such massive income (which is partly market/consumer driven), allowing Titans to be "crapped out" perhaps the Doomsday problem would not be as glaring.
Just a thought.

I'm not so sure. I mean, in an alternate universe - Titans don't exist in Eve Online and never have. However, swarms of say, flying bananas do - all bought and paid for by R64 moons.
Nerfing the income from R64 moons is yet another shotgun to remove a housefly from your face reaction. For the love of god man, don't give them any ideas or we'll be joisting each other with rusty swords borrowed from WoW gold sellers because CCP decided to remove the ability to make isk in EVE thus forcing us to crash our ships into the sun, and start over on earth_03. Or something. bah.

Let me get this straight...
Quick locking, Perfect tracking, Instant killbutton for multiple subcaps, Instant wrecking shots for caps, 60 second cycle time, and not enough time to move out of the way
And this will balance titans?
Are you a troll?

Alliances would have nationalized plexes, raised taxes, held more mining ops etc to get them. There are multiple people that have mined for their own personal titan, played the market until they could afford one, etc.

Indeed, so many things that it can be applied to - at the end of the day, "you can, so you should" whilst not always applicable in RL is (pretty much) ALWAYS applicable in EvE.

As far as I can tell, Reikoku are the only ex-BoB corp that have accepted the loss and moved on with their lives, I think they'll be better for it in the long run. I still see a good deal of bitterness from the other members.
