While the Phantasm vs Ashimmu debate has been raging, people forgot that though the Phantasm has only 7.5 effective turrets to the Ashimmu's 8, the Phantasm is capable of fitting a full tank and three damage mods. The Phantasm has 66% more EHP, 10% more DPS, and 40% more speed than the 4-turret Ashimmu.
Fitted for a buffer tank, the Ashimmu can reach ~50k EHP (4x HPL II, 2x meta4 neuts / Y-T8 MWD, 2x meta4 Web, Warp Disruptor II / 1600mm RRT, 3x EANM II, DCU II / 3x Trimark I) Max-skilled damage output with Scorch M: 264 DPS
The Phantasm has the same EHP, 78% more DPS, and 40% more speed than the 4-turret Ashimmu.
Just for the sake of completion: Active-tanked Ashimmu has ~16k EHP (4x HPL II, 2x meta4 neut / Y-T8 MWD, meta4 Web, Warp Disruptor II, Medium Cap Injector II / 2x MAR II, 3x EANM II / 3x Auxiliary Nano Pump I) Max-skilled active tank: 295 DPS Has to tank for 115 seconds to be equivalent to a 50k EHP passive fit. Max velocity: 1241m/s
The Phantasm has 212% more EHP, 81% less regen/rep rate, 78% more DPS, and 23% more speed.
Now compare the 3-turret Ashimmu:
3x HPL II + 3x Heatsinks + Hobgoblin II: 370 DPS (Phantasm: 27% more DPS) 3x HPL II + 3x Hobgoblin II: 238 DPS (Phantasm: 97% more DPS)
By removing a turret, you make the Ashimmu a vastly inferior damage dealer, with a worse tank, and worse maneuverability.
CCP Ytterbium, please at least help us make sense of why you believe the Ashimmu needs to lose a turret. Any explanation of the thinking behind the ship changes in general would be appreciated, and will help us focus our suggestions and allay our fears.

Ashimmu compares to Curse/Pilgrim...Phantasm compares to Zealot/Omen Navy. Point is now moot, you might have missed the point, comparing apples to kumquats, etc,etc...
