This started after yesterday's patch. The patch continuously failed to download through the launcher, so I tried to patch by running the Repair tool. The repair tool ran. Trying to start the game again shows the launcher Creating EVE Online 381866-381866 and downloading a file that's about 644kb in size. Once the download finishes, it says client is ready.
Starting the game gives me the Verification Failure error, here's the files that failed to verify: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/46095085/Verification%20Failed%20Files.JPG (I downloaded the game through Steam, hence, Steamapps)
Launcher log file is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/46095085/launcher.2012.06.05.log
I can't think of any programs that would interfere with the launcher. Running repair tool again shows that the repair tool completes quickly, but upon closing the repair tool, it tells me that it ran into an error and a log file was saved. I can't find the log file, even though I don't close the information window and am looking in my Temp folder. I think the problem is in that 644kb download it makes.
I saw an earlier case where someone ran into a similar error and it was solved by forcing Repair to run in safemode via command prompts, but I don't know how to use that method. I found that here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=52986
After today's downtime, the launcher goes through the same process of patching 382307-382307, downloading a 600 something kb file and gives a slightly different set of failures: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/46095085/Verification%20Failed%20Files%20June%2005.JPG
Repair tool still completes nearly instantly and gives an error. I still cannot find the log file. Send help, 'kay, thanks. |

There seem to be write locks on some of the EVE client files, maybe related to Steam, have you already tried restarting your computer?
I will get back to you about the savemode. CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer | Team Undone Unit |

I get corrupt data nearly every SINGLE patch nowadays. And this is not even a STEAM version I am running (the steam one rolled back to Incarna after Inferno patch for some odd reason).
Please fix this launcher mess, getting tired of redownloading the entire client every single patch (hell if I have not had as fast internet as I have now, I would probably self-destruct).
The error I am having is at 7% verification in the launcher, it says the downloaded data are corrupt and if I want to try again... When I click yes it just keeps doing this error every time. When I click No it just stays as "Failed to update". The PC have been restarted multiple times, I tried disabling Firewall (using ESET Smart Security 5).
Again, I had no problems with patching EVE prior to the launcher implementation (the launcher has also messed up STEAM overlay and screenshot function).
Please, it has been a few months now - get the launcher fixed. "Throw the rules out the window, odds are you'll go that way too." |

Hey, Joha. Fancy seeing you here. And your crisp, elegant shirt. =P
On a side note, for me, almost any solution is preferable to downloading the client again. My download speed is 41kb/s (live in South Africa) and it would probably take nearly a week to replace the client. Also, I need to log back in ASAP, since my main's subscription runs out in a week or so and I need PLEX money. |

The switch to run the repairtool in safemode is:
--safemode
My shortcut to trigger it looks like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\repair.exe" --safemode CCP Sputnik | Software Engineer | Team Undone Unit |

Do I just past it into cmd.exe and hit Enter? Because doing so gives me the System cannot find the path specified error. |

A whole lot of good that was. I fixed it myself.
I ran the repair tool in safe mode and had it skip the stuff files, as suggested by CCP Atropos a few months ago in another thread I found on Google. That was solution. Safemode alone will not work.
The string to execute is here: repair.exe --safemode --ignore=*.stuff |
