CA are often called The Pirate Alliance...i don't think there's anything wrong with that, but some do. _______________________________________________________

If you believe that you must really love the taste of bullchit. celestial apoc are a joke. there is no way that they have a 3:88 kill to death ratio.
P.S. Takes a lot of skill to use log on tactics, camp B-Vip ON the gate so if anything more than half your fleet size shows up you just jump. lots of skill there

Edited by: Gungankllr on 21/10/2004 22:21:43 I can already say without a shadow of a doubt that this post is going to spiral into a slogfest of "I'm better than you are" threads, "No, you're worthless" threads, and "I killed 10 m0o Battleship" threads.
Any time anything that anything is mentioned about CA in a post, the end result is always the same. A bunch of pompous blowhards on both sides puffing their chests up back and forth about who is better.
In about 5 pages, a mod will come in say "Jee, another CA vs. (WHOEVER) flamefest" and lock it, until someone else starts another thread.
It is an endless cycle of utter stupidity, perpetuated by people who spend more time on the forums typing than in-game, and I feel like I lose IQ points every time I read the forums sometimes.
Just to head off the posts to follow at the pass:
"We owned you, you safespotted"
"We safespotted because you blobbed 425 to 1"
"I killed 25 Battleships myself, and you never killed me LOL"
And so on, and so on, and so on...
Someone please rescue me from the madness that is the forums lately

Originally by: Heine Shaver They mine lots of veldspar, sing songs and play a space combat game.
Yep, that's them... singing and mining and... oooo.....
No, that was the dwarves who were banging snow white every night.
Curse alliance is for people who are proud of what they are. They don't take crap from second-stringers.
They also like to wage war on the enemies territory... and not wait for the enemy to attack them.
In more than a year of Eve experience, I've only battled once directly with Curse folks and they impressed the hell out of me, so they know what they are doing.
So, choose your path carefully. If you choose wisely, you will have a rewarding experience... if you choose poorly... well... thank god there are clones.
Have fun!

as is evident from this thread, the Curse Alliance is a highly controversial entity, that elicits a lot of negative feelings from others. (who feel the need to pretend they get godlike kill ratio's against the CA and other such nonsense) in essence, the CA is one of the oldest most succesful alliances out there, and despite being in a constant state of war against multiple enemies at any given time, finds itself hardly dazed by any losses it incurs and strikes back with great success wherever an organized CA fleet travels.
CA is not a single corporation however, it's many. And as such, there will be different voices and playingstyles even within this unified alliance. Some may pirate, some may help others, your playing style is sure to be represented.
The only choice you have to make is if you're down with the rest of the universe hating you and making slanderous statements about you. |

Kill ratios do make me chuckle. You cannot be serious when you post these on the official boards. Show me your full proof account system that delivers this kill ratio and I will listen. Cause the one you have stated is not that impressive. I can pull some much more impressive figures out.
New Shinra Kill system, please be patient were still ironing out the finer points!! |

But sadly they operate in much the same manner as pirates would, ganking ANYTHING that enters 'their' territory. Coupled with the fact that the overwhelming majority of Curse members are horrendous smack talkers, they don't do themselves any favours, and fail to endear themselves to most people. Hence why we like to smack seven shades of sh1t out of them as regularly as possible (Although its been a while now. Roll on the next Great Wildlands campaign!).

Curse is seen as being the biggest alliance in Eve, and as such are either loved or hated by all. When you get such a big group, then you're gonna get the good and the bad. People will whine about CA pirates in A2, then boast that they took down a CA carebear miner.
Personally though, I think Curse would suffer much less hatred if they took control of their members. If you choose to allow members of your alliance to engage in what can only be described as piracy, then you have to accept it when that label is applied to you universally.
If you can't control your members, then you're no alliance, just a big web of NAPs.
Of course, my opinion is just an opinion, and at least partly based on others opinions. Opinion can be worth more than fact though; why all the smack otherwise ?
