What is usal role of Dominix in todays PvP?
Are Dominix ever used as Blaster Ship today? Ofcourse not forgetting Drones... Or is it just big fat ass sitting, tanking, sucking enemy cap and spewing out one wave of drones after another?

Absolutely it can be a blaster boat. Dominix is a very versitile ship, and can fill a lot of roles. For the most part, i see it being more of a small gang ship rather than a large fleet bs, mostly because of its drone bonuses.
I personally use three domi fits often. Without going into excruciating detail, the first is a shield tanking blaster setup, designed to push the maximum dps out of the ship, which can easily top 1000 and tank several hundred till it runs out of cap boosters. The second is the standard nos/neut domi, which you seem to have some experience with, big buffer and lots of drain. The third is as an armor tanking facet of an rr gang, a role it fills very well because of its 5 mids and relatively variable high slot layout.
The ship has many different ways of being used, I'm sure people could post a hundred other equally viable roles for it to fill.

Yes I had exp with Neut Domi... I somehow managed to engage with exactly the target which can't be taken out by neut domi - Passive Shield Tanked Ishtar! Died to his corp-mates later!
I still have to learn to fly this monster... as today I use it only for PvE IV missions... But as my wallet fills I am planning to get into PvP!
Regarding Blaster Fit? Should I go for T2 Big Guns, or Named Ones are ok too?

Women, dogs, cats livestock, neighbours .. the whole damn farm.
Blaster Dominix (aka. Gank'o'Rama) is super fun and immensely powerful in limited engagements. The more opponents you face the more the neut/nos fit gains in value. The versatility has not decreased and it remains one of the most deadly ships around .. awesome boat.

Then I am glad I choosed the ship for my future PvP (when I learn to fly Incursus)

Don't forgot on top of all this that the Domi is one of the most affordable battleships you can fly. I haven't checked the market recently but I'm pretty sure the last Domi I purchased was only 50 million ISK and the hull is pretty much 100% paid for by insurance. Compare that to some of the 100-150 million ISK tier 2/3 battleships.

The question, should be what can't the dommi do.. It's by far the most versatile BS in the game.

yeah the domi is basically amazing. It does lots of things well, and it's great for solo because its so cheap like spec said, it's like flying a crazy battlecruiser.
I think it does lose effectiveness as your gang gets large, because of drone travel time and neuting is useless when the primary is going down before a second neut cycle goes through. Its also hard to fit a good armor buffer with large blasters/mwd... doesn't have near the grid of say a megathron. It is solid as specialized RR in large gangs though.

In a gang role like that, assuming your gang has enough DPS to melt the primaries, the Dommi should be neuting secondaries and other threats. If the gang has enough DPS then neuts will of course be of little use on the primary, but they can drastically cut down the incoming damage your gang is receiving from various laser and blaster boats.

Being the only useful Gallente Battleship. (Neuts and buggering up others as a support ship generally, it;s a very versatile boat for remote reps/neuts and drone support.)

Shorter ranges for various roles, you'll not find a better ship especially at the price.

The Domi can be fit for just about anything but what the Domi does extremely well is omni pvp.
The most awesome thing i've ever seen was 3 RR Domi's take out a 10 man HAC gang. The part that was crazy was the insta popping falcons(2), haha. I think the Domi's dropped wardens II's and then the falcons setting at 100km went poof. The HAC gang warped to this gate so i guess 100km was the only choice for the falcons. Then they pulled the wardens and went to some other drones. It was crazy. I ask about the fit but they wouldnt tell. I'm curious though. Wouldnt the Domi need a drone range mod and at least one omni tracking link for the sentries to hit that far?
I think 2 of the HACs finally got away.

3 Drone Link augmentors + 1 or 2 Omnidirectional Tracking Link should do the trick! Ofcourse maxed drone skills including electronic ones! There are brave ones. And then there are those whom the brave ones will follow. |

Dont forget the disco domi, used for busting spider tankers. Basically load the highs with LSBs and watch them scatter.
