New probes that can scan out clocked ships... end of storie ships going afk clocked in systems have to stop they should be able to be probed out over time

You know CCP asks for well thought out idea. How do you propose this work? If I afk in a cloaked ship that's not a covert ops, I remain in motion. If I'm in a covert ops, what I'm doing determines whether I am orbiting or not when I'm cloaked. The entire purpose of the cloak is to not be detected so what's you're argument aside from just not liking afk cloakers in space when you don't really know if they are afk or not? The problem is that you can see the pilot in local even thought he is cloaked. If you could not then you would not have any real problem with him being AFK.
I would like it to be something like this.
Prototype cloaks is treated as a low signature ship while scanning. Making it hard to scan but far from impossible. A hit should be between 5-30km away from target.
Improved cloaks should be displayed in local and should be able to be scanned down with uber skills. A hit ranges from 10-100km from the target.
Covert op fitted ships should not be displayed in local and should be unscannable since it is their job to be invisible.
The exception is black ops that can only use improved cloaks. They should not be shown in local and should be undetectable as well thus making covert ops ships really covert.

Edited by: Raa Chura on 16/09/2009 09:38:00 Then why not just making cloaking at all remove you from the local channel. Now that wormholes exists there's really no telling if a person would be cloaked in system or if they left. With that said, if a person leave the system through a WH why not leave their face in the local system since the gates really don't know where you went. Sorry to shift the point.
Back to you, Ive be okay with removing people from local when they cloak with a 30second timer or something so anyone who's putting out probes or gets uncloaked has time to go covert again before being seen. Raa Chura "You can't read loss, you can only feel it.." |

hey CCP? did you make clocks for to soul reason so they can not be killed as long as they are clocked , you can not track them down they can not be probed out whats the point of probes?
this should not be used as a get out of jail free card... Clocks should drain your cap when in use....
there should be away to track down c lockers and kill them maybe longer time probes and hard to loc but they should make away...

If I'm not mistaken, "clocks" were designed to keep track of time.
There is nothing wrong with cloaking. Stop trying to fix that which is not broken.

Cloaks are fine as they are, LEAVE THEM ALONE The hole not show in local is bogus too, there is a becon you have to connect to when using the stargate, I read it somewhere, which is why you are in local. I love pvp but id find it kind of silly if i could have a 50man sb gang outside your station in 0.0 not in local... 0.0 and lo sec would become impossible. I occasionaly mine or rat, and having people do the log of in the belt trick is bad enugh(for them =P)
Once again (all you noobs in your recons) LEAVE THE CLAOKS ALONE get a curse ffs or a demos and be a man!

Cloaking is already well-balanced, no change needed.
Clocking however is way out of hand and I think there should definetly be a fix! ~ Santiago Fahahrri Galactic Geographic |
