Hey, I'm a minority too, but that doesn't bother me much. I'll still try to fill out a role I think is missing in EVE, even with big non-logical RP game mechanics. Luckely I have friends and allies who support the cause. And if I had a second choice I might have played an Ammatar instead.

Pulgor, what do you expect honestly?
Since you first created your character you began by attacking the minnies, in defence of the Ammatar.
Do you really expect milk and cookies to be given in every response you make on the FTL network? Your our enemy and spent mst of your time in Blacksheep shooting us and again in metratron. I read all your very good posts and reports, but I respond as a Minnie who hates you for what your people represent, weakness and betrayal.
Now, as much as I love Discoporation's, "We should all be freinds!" view and to ditch racial considerations in our roleplay, tbh - thats a pile of crud. You may be happy being an all accepting amarr who bounces around happilly with buBBles on the fringe of known space. That doesn't mean the rest of us whose backgrounds most likely include a source of hatred towards another faction are bad roleplayer's for using that.
This pigionholing of people who have based their characters on the World of Eve section are by no means elite and there are many exceptions to the rule. Not all corporations are 'xenophobes' in our war either but neither is being a xeonphobe anything special other than a choice. So what if they hold race a consideration over other choices? I fail to see how that makes them elite/weak/worse than Pulgor because he plays a minority.
The tools Shar asked about - read the whole thread, they're mentioned quite a few times before we got to half way down page 2 where it decended into another debate about roleplay again.

I agree Pulgor, being Ammatar would be a very hard role to play. I created an alt on a second account a few months back and attempted to play a slave who's master had been killed by Minmatar freedom fighters. The twist being that my 'slave' was used to his life and vowed vengence on those who killed the man who had cared for him his whole life.
Of course, I got slagged by both sides. Entering the Amarr channel was... rather offputting to say the least. Guy's name was Odissi btw. I'm sorry to hear you've given up on the roleplay line. You were for lack of a better word unique, which was probably the problem.
The Intaki revolution didn't work because there was no way it would. Some of us wanted war. Other's like myself, just wanted Justice in the raising of the system's security status. I thought that was a line that would be respected but all it achieved was some rather heated OOC flames from a few players (can't remember names but I'm sure they know who they are). The problem was we found an area where the prime fiction conflicted with the EVE universe, and used (or should that be use) that as a basis for our characters.
Hopefully at some point the minor stories will get a bit more attention and we can both come back to the table on our lines.

Actually Hakara, if you decided to read the whole thread, you'd notice that I said that you Minmat's were acting IN LINE with my RP.
As for respecting RP'ers that take a different role. Simular concept to risk vs reward right? Play a generic character like 90% of the other folks, don't expect to stand out. Play a unique character, stand out like an ingrown nail and have folks feverently try to pluck it =). It does gain you a certain amount of respect because it's much more difficult to flesh out an independent line of RP, especially under fire from the majority. You should try it sometime Hakara, I think you'd be good at it. -----------------------------------

Originally by: Hakera I read all your very good posts and reports, but I respond as a Minnie who hates you for what your people represent, weakness and betrayal.
In your "role" you accept him for what he is. Here, outside of your role, you recognize that he's worth a common level of civility. This is part of the trouble, RP is far to often used as an excuse to cover up boorish behavior. (And that's describing it lightly.)
What did he expect?
He expected to be treated in accordance with the role he selected and in accordance with his actions. From the Matari side it is rather simple - he gets lumped in with the "slaver scum". On that Amarran side, he doesn't even get treated like a "precocious dog". Not in accordance with the role he plays nor his many efforts.
But then you are not into this "We should all be friends" thing?
The simplest explaination to that idea. When you are out of your role, stop being a jerk. And don't hide inside your role to try to cover up that you are nothing more than a jerk.

Good to see many doing constructive posts.
Shame the EVE-G crowd is acting haughty.
"Beg for forums on Eve-Guardian", what sort of answer is that. Did you create this game? No, CCP did. There is a plethora of forums out there but none of them but this are the official one.
Did CCP create (after a LONG time mind you and it took a high profile incident to do it) IC and OOC boards for Corporations? Yes.
Should CCP create an OOC roleplaying board? Yes.
Why haven't they? Probably for the same reason that it took such a long time to create a specific recruitment forum and IC forum for the corporations.
Probably for the same reason that Heideran Kador is still listed as Amarr Emperor.
They don't care but we want to make it clear to them, WE DO CARE.

An interesting quote you use there. I dont think anyone has said "beg" but I did say ask and we will see what can be done for you, within, say, the next 24 hours.
Of course you can keep asking CCP for them on the official forums, see if CCP sets up the forums you are asking for or if EG set them up.

Which is different from begging? Why don't you instead set up a forum first and then see if people can be enticed to it, which is unlike asking people to ask for it.

I had respect for you, now rapidly diminishing. Mostly because of you throwing accusations in the air about "people who shoot down other people" without clarifying what you are talking about.
We are called silly wabbits because Shar doesn't agree with what we say.
I'm off to the panel now, to try and indeed... DO SOMETHING ABOUT it.
Just as you can have an opinion about others and not respect them, so I can have an opinion about EG and not respect it (your financial stuff is nice though).
