Actually, you were the evil genius. You tried to bribe one of their weaker members, but you underestimated their evilness. Next time use your alt, and be smarter. Let them think you are needed in their hive.

You know, I was just looking for a corp, someone referred me to penifSMASH, and I paid the price. Not having met any of them in person, I can not attest to how much they weigh. But I'd say, based on their actions, 350 pounds is kind of light.

Wrong advice. Just don't try to buy yourself in or bribe them. Goons can't be bribed, unless you give them the freedom to scam you.
Checking what a corp is about before attempting to join them is the wrong advice, erm no it's not. And not trying to pay your way to get into a corp is pretty bloody obvious too.

IÆm not the one who got scammed by them thanks . I know exactly what they like to do. Plenty of people never visit this forum, so checking up on any corp that someone wants to join is a smart decision end of.

I can see the attraction of GoonSwarm to a certain basement dwelling, mouth breathing, immature, social pariah segment of the gamer community. "Oh the imaginary power I'll have when I'm part of the mighty Goons" they say, touching themselves with their Cheeto covered, greasy little hands that have never felt the soft skin of a real woman.
A sad lesson for them then, when they discover that are are the exact people the the goonies prey upon.

Originally by: Jake McCord Probably more anti-penifSMASH than anti-Goon. Still, GoonFleet tolerates his actions, so that would make them accomplices. And in typical scammer fashion, they tried to turn it around on me. "ooh, he's a spy, trying to sneak into GF to spy on us." Maybe if they'd stuck to their word and given my money and other stuff back, it would have gone a long way to prove they're not scamming people. As it is, if they have so much isk, like I was told, why do they need my stuff? Guess maybe GF is a poor fleet that can only make their isk by scamming people, eh?
You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor! Take him away!

What an unexpected pleasure! I honestly didn't expect one of the scammer's buddies to post. How nice of you!

Watch out with being kind to Goons. This may yield unexpected results. They have accustomed to **** storms targeting them in about every thread addressing them. So play it safe and run along with the mob, brandish a pitchfork and smack some tar and feathers around instead.

Ok, so how about if I say that GoonFleet (or at least the 3 of them that ripped me off) are the lowest of the low, the foulest of the foul, and the most cowardly of the cowards in EVE, anyone who can ONLY make isk by scamming other people are not worthy to be dog dirt.
How was that?

I totally agree. I think scamming is the lowest form of profiteering that exists. It makes me sick to my stomach that people actually make an ingame living doing this sort of thing. *shakes fist*

Says one of the 3 (or is it 4, if you count the guy who sent me to penifSMASH) who scammed me. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Anyway, I'm pretty well done with complaining about GoonFleet. Except to say, I won't cry if some other alliance/coalition should manage to pound them into dust. Not that it's likely. But I can hope, can't I.

To be honest, I never gave it a thought before, partly because of their reputation, and partly because I heard you had to know someone to get in. When I was sent a referral, I thought, "Hey, a foot in the door." After all, GF is part of GS, and it's a HUGE alliance, so I figured it might be a good learning opportunity. Well, it was a learning opportunity, just not a good one.
An expensive one to be sure. One that a few months ago, might have caused me to just give up on the game. But this time around, not so much.

In the end, it's just a game, at least I keep telling myself that. And I really have more serious, RL issues to worry about than a bunch of dweebs that go around scamming everyone for fun.
But thank you. I do try to be a good sport, as much as I can. I just figured maybe my little fiasco, if I told about it, might save someone else some grief.

This must have been an exaggeration or a clerical error. penifSMASH is an upstanding senior Goonfleet officer. Goonfleet does not scam or tolerate those who do, because it would be counterproductive to growing our membership and maintaining our status as the largest corp/alliance in eve. We have a very specific security entry process to make certain that we are not infiltrated by hostile agents.
If you wish to file a formal grievance please evemail me for details.

Not an exggeration. He is a scammer of the lowest sort. And Absolute Clarity has no honor. But, based on what I've been told about GoonFleet, I guess I really should not be surprised.
I have chalked this up to one slightly expensive lesson learned. Thanks to penifSMASH and his cohorts, I'll not likely ever trust anyone in EVE again, that I don't already know.

Yeah, I didn't know that. But they didn't get any real money. All they really did was fix it so I'm not likely to trust anyone else in this game that I don't know personally. Really, it's a shame that some people can't make money in the game except by scamming other people. I don't mind PvP combat. That's expected. But this sort of scam should be some sort of TOS violation or something.
Since GF is such a large corp in an even larger alliance, it's not likely I'll ever get a chance at justice/revenge. All I can do is forum troll and whine.
