Now I've spent my fair share of time camping 0.0 stations and killing whatever comes out, but It's always struct me as odd that doing this kind of thing in no way affects your standing with the owners of those stations (if this were a player run alliance you'd be blobbed in no time). So I got to thinking abotu a mechanism that would provide some negative consequences for this and Hit upon the idea of handing out standing hits for attacking and killing mission runners who're running missions for the corps in question. I mean pirates who cause players to fail missions are affecting the operations of the NPC corps so they're not going to be happy.
Now this means if you're out in NPC space you can't keep killing pilots indiscriminately, because eventually you'll find yourself unable to dock out there. It makes it marginally safer for individual pilots to run missions for the 0.0 corps.
(now, of course there could be a complementeary part to this - is you kill a missino runner who'ds killing ships belonging to your favourite faction , wouldn't it be nice to get a standing gain from that factions?)

It is sort of a neat idea but you would have to watch the consiquences carefully as it may work out to be next to impossible for a pirate to recover any standing.

Sure, you'd reap what you sow, but that's why I put the suggestions of gains from opposing factions, so that if you pirate then you find that NPC pirate factions will become friendly to you.
There'd probably have to be some limitations on enforcing this so that players can't just accept half a dozen missions and hold them for a week to discourage ganking, so the standing penalty should only apply to one mission. Also, time limits could be added by making the penalty only apply inside the 'bonus' period, or when the pilot is in the mission encounter space. Pirates should get notice when they attack a pilot that they're working for Corporation X and killing this pilot would not be looked on favourably.
I primarly want to stamp out the notion that a pirate camp can shut down mission runners using a 0.0 station while still basing out of that station themselves. If you were to sit on a station in empire and kill the NPC haulers that launch then you'd eventually lose enough standing such that you wouldn't be able to dock, this is extending that notion to PVP.
Of course I'd like to see the mission interaction taken even further, if you kill osmeone and they drop a courier item then you might get contacted by 'interested parties' and asked to deliver the item yourself. Or, the ability to get rewarded by pirate factions for attacking pilots in missions.
