I am looking at forming a small corp for me and some of my local friends then branching out from there...
So my question is, if I start a corp, can we at a later time relocate the "main base/office" if we needed/wanted or is where I start the corporation where we are stuck at?

You can indeed, all you need to do is rent an office, use the Move HQ Here button on the station menu, then you can simply unrent the office if you don't with to have it and your HQ is now relocated.

It's always wise to shop around for cheap offices, some of the systems away from the main hubs can be really nice and cheap, as you'll discover when you hit rent office, the ones around the big mission running/trade systems are hugely expensive due to demand, so hunt around then you aren't spending millions of iskies just to move your HQ

I wanna start a few jumps away from the Sisters of EVE missions....is that concievable?

Probably, like I said just have a fly around the stations and hit the rent office button in any stations you think are close enough, lowest price you can get per month is 10k isk, so watch how much they want to charge you.
Is it around Essence, Sinq Laison that you're looking to set you're HQ. It doesn't actually matter where your HQ is really, you can set up an office wherever you want to have it, it's often advantageous to keep your HQ a distance away from where you are operating regularly anyway.
If you're around Essence you might find Cat or Helle is pretty cheap and within a few jumps of Sisters stations.

I like my HQ being many systems from my offices and my operations.
Not that anyone really cares, I just like my alt corp to keep a low profile. My CEO and my HQ are not where my corp operates - these are the two things that people can most easily find out because they're listed in the corp info. Your corp profile tells people the system your HQ is in and a simple check with a locator agent will reveal where your CEO is. Having a caretaker CEO with 900k SP and not much reason to login is good for staying under the radar.
On the other hand Agony is a very public corp - our HQ is well known and we don't care who knows where we are - in fact we like people to know.

One thing I figured out on office pricing is that your quoted rate varies based on your faction standing with the base owner.
For example I have a small corp with a real life friend that we use for pooling resources originally we found a small poorly equiped base that rented offices to us for about 2 mil ISK. We went with it because all the other bases in the area were charging substantially more (like 10 mil a month plus) after training up connections and running a bunch of level 2 missions out of a Quafe factory we were able to get the rents from them down to around 2 mil So we've moved into a more convient office.
Just something to keep in mind.

I don't that is so, I recently got an office from a Caldari Business Tribual station for 10k isk, I have no standing with that corp as far as I can remember and I actually have a negative standing with the Caldari state after running some missions against them.
Office prices are based on the number of offices taken at that station, which is why the offices in busy hubs are very expensive (highly popular so less availability) while those in outlying systems tend to be cheaper (less popular greater availability).
Ive never noticed standing reducing the office rents at all.
