I currently fly a faction fitted NH for missions and although it can do any lvl4 with ease, sometimes it can be a bit slow. I am looking to get a second ship which will have more DPS than my NH but the question I need to ask is which one. I have read that a Golem is the best choice but have also seen conflicting info saying the CNR is better or even the Rattlesnake.
I can fly all of the above and also fit them properly too so which one should I go for. Any input from other CNR / Golem pilots is appreciated but please donĘt just say it, an explanation of why would be very helpful.
Thanks

There's at least one post on the first page that's about the exact same subject.

Did it occur to you that I am not aware of this and as EVE-Search is currently offline its difficult to find but thanks for your unique input. I can see a post regarding the CNR but no reference between to the 2.
Thanks

CNR > Golem :) Everything's said :) that's the result you'll find after looking without the automated search in the ships posts.

CNR on paper, does more dps than a Golem. But Golem has a few things going for it, the explosion velocity bonus - which is fantastic, the TP bonus - with 2 tp's on elite frigs you can use faction torps to bring them down. Also, the Golem uses 42% of the ammo that a CNR uses, so it is far easier to use faction ammo for it in some missions.
tl;dr ... for lvl 4 CNR with t1 ammo, for lvl 5 Golem with faction ammo. --- I smack just for myself.

Golem, use velocity rigs and javelin torps. Now let a thread like this never ever be posted again.

Would go for Golem if you have isk to spare, if not then CNR will work more or less same. Golem is just a bit easier to pilot as it needs less micromanagement. CNR has 16% better base dps, Golem has awsom painters, in real missions they end up more or less the same on average. Ofc in some missions one is faster in others another. You will be using it anyway in approx 40% of missions if you aready run in amarrish area.

Personally I prefer the Golem. Torps are sexy and being able to salvage as you go is a massive time saver.
The Golem also has a larger cargo which is useful for either cap boosters or filling it with npc loot.

Torp Golem with Rigs for missile-range (1 velo, 1 flight time) will work best, its killspeed should be superior to any other ship on average l4 missions. Marauder-Bonus helps to get more ISK in same time with loot and salv done in one go. So if you got the skills, take a Golem and make it a Torp-ship, if not, use a Cruise-Missile-CNR. Torp CNR has even more DPS than Torp-Golem, but will be harder to fly (less tank, worse TP-support, Grid-Issues).
Or get a Tengu, will be easier to skill than the other two (with NH you got Cruiser 5 anyway, same should be true with Heavy Missiles) and also be able to perform very well against kinetic enemies, up to 730 DPS with Scourge Fury, price roughly same as CNR (including subsystems), fitting cheaper, and the ship is very fast :)

If your using torps and/or salvage loot then the golem is for you... It will finish the mission and loot/salvage faster then the cnr + salvage cane will. If you like to blitz missions its a tossup tbh- the torp fit golem will do better then torp fit cnr, but not by much. Cruise fits are also comparable- though in this i believe the golem comes out slightly ahead speed wise (if you actually fit 2 tp's like you should- yes even with cruise missiles)
