I really have no idea what kind of Christians apprently live in this country. Sometimes I feel its an elaborate ruse made up to get everyone who isn't Christian to think that all Christians are psycos. Then again, some people actually thought there were WMDs in iraq and some people actually thought(think) Obama's healthcare is a good idea. So...I know not to doubt anything anymore.

This unfortunately is one of our huge flaws, the percentage varies, but its usually close to this number when polls are conducted. Kids are brainwashed at an early age over here. Just look up all the BS on youtube that kids are subjected to from religion. "God made it, the bible says it, therefore I believe it." is an awesome way to promote progress apparently.

It can depend greatly on how the question is asked, Richard Dawkins latest book has quite a well written section on how the precise wording (alone) can change the numbers quite dramatically.

Most Americans believe in an imaginary man, and refuse to listen to anyone that thinks different? Tell me something I don't know.
I will still watch this film. No amount of American censorship will stop me either. |

Not allowed by what?
There is no single controlling entity that can determine, or exert control if it wanted to, over what movies get shown in the United States.
If there is no distribution because of concerns that nobody will want to see it, that's because the topic is boring. We have better things to do in the USA than sit around watching animals flap around some island and listen to some narrative droning on and on.
Oh and for everybody one person who thinks that the earth is only 6000 years old, there is also one, equally zealous and mindless, who thinks that climate change was caused by carbon (an element in EVERYTHING).

You don't know much about film distribution in the US.
While it's not quite a "single controlling entity", it ain't too far from reality. |

It is not being banned because it is too controversial, but because the American audience prefers action and foreign film festival movies tend to be criminally boring.
I for one accept evolution as a fact, but I do not want to watch the most tedious explanation of this fact for three hours when I could watch Die Hard instead.

"A British film about Charles Darwin has failed to find a US distributor because his theory of evolution is too controversial for American audiences, according to its producer."
hmmmmm....I'll take a wild stab in the dark, but I find it more likely that US distributers were having a hard time seeing a profit being made on the film. US film industry and controvery....those things don't go together....that'll never sell!!! Wonder if the author was a ghost writer for Michael Moore.

America is touchy about sex on TV, and Europe is touchy about violence on TV. So unless the movie is about monkeys exploding while one gives the other a "reach around"...I don't think we'll find common ground on this one.

Have you ever thought of going into the movie industry, you have a fine idea for a film there

When I get home I'm going to type that into google and see what results come up.
I'm also going to see if I have space to squeeze that into my bio.
