This is a good call by CCP. The "where can I test my destroyer, teh big ships hurt meh" arguement is exactly the point frig pilots were making about having destroyers in their ffa.
Maybe now you can understand their point of view?

We have
Frigate
Cruisers
BSs
Caps
Super Caps.
destroyers/Frigates/Inties/AFs/StealthBombers/EAFs/dictors are all Frigate class hulls, seeing as they use all the same mods/weapons/rigs as frigates.
Cruisers/BC's/Hac's/Recons/HIC's/command ships/SAC's are all Cruiser class hulls.
BS's/Black ops/Marauders are all BS class hulls.
Carriers/Dreads/Rorq's are all capital class hulls.
Super Carriers/Titans are Super cap hulls.
Battlecruisers and destroyers are not cruisers and frigates.
Battlecruisers are not allowed at the cruiser ffa.
Module size makes no difference.
A freighter has no slots, so does that make it a shuttle?

Think you need to read slower. NOWHERE in that post did I say battle cruisers are Frigates. NOWHERE.
battleCRUISERS. The ship hull is in the damned NAME of the ship.

So you are saying that battlecruisers are cruisers and therefore allowed in the cruiser ffa?
You are going to be in for a shock / ban.
Same applies to destroyers, they are not frigates. The use of frigate sized modules does not make them frigate hulls in the same way that battlecruisers using cruiser sized modules does not make them cruiser hulls.
It isn't all that complicated tbh.
