This is the second time I'm accused of trying to "blow my own horn" because I'm trying to see RP and EVE advance.
I'm not saying I'm an integral part in the development, I probably don't matter much. But I'm trying to do this for those that don't have the ability to converse with the Devs face to face both due to their geographical position and linguistic barriers.
I couldn't care less about my name being associated with it, indeed this character is not the one doing most of my roleplaying.
All I stated was that the deep worries I had about RP in EVE hitting a brick wall and whittling down to less than it is, are no longer so heavy on my mind.
I am optimistic and wanted to convey that feeling to others that share the same worries.
Things like being in awe with the devs or claiming fame or fortune or whatever for it are not something I even contemplate. Any further silly stuff like that will be ignored.

Can you share some of the theoretical ideas which were shared with you?
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

To keep your own credibility in tact I would suggest you apologize to him. Grandstanding is one thing but he should be proud of his moment.
Saying that he's purjured himself is a false accusation and on a much more higher level of rudeness indeed. |

Well I did not see eye to eye with Riddari yesterday over his mangling of language I used in a post, for what seemed to be the soul purpose of flaming an idea I was trying to put forward.
But credit where it is due, he has spoken face to face with people that can do something about the world of EVE and I presume he has put across the issues the RP community have problems with.
So lets at least give the man a chance, he is doing something. We need more people doing something and we need to give more support to those that are.
Kudos Riddari. ******** AUTHOR of the COMPLETE mineral and ore Price guide, updated weekly, see Eve Guardian for details

good going, Riddari. i'm glad to see that someone so high-profile is pushing for more RP tools in the game. i've been frustrated with the general attitude towards RP that most players have. they think they are playing nothing more than a massive ship-based version of CS, where the goal is to frag more than you're fragged...
RPers begged for the Bio feature, but most players use it as a way to either sell their wares or inflict their senseless idiocy on the rest of us. now, i'm not stuck up or "taking the game too seriously", but i wish more players would do more to support the idea of this world we play in instead of constantly reminding everyone that it's "just" a game.
glad to hear that the Devs have not lost sight of making RPing more accessible, and perhaps more appealing to those that are on the fence regarding roleplaying.

There is another kind?
While we're at this, can we remove voice privileges from local for anyone who doesn't pass some kind of test? We can still have the morons post here, assuming from the evidence currently available that may well be the purpose of these forums? Right...
Regardless, whatever the devs may offer about their intentions to get rid of nagging fanbois in tortured denial, I'll be content to wait for concrete results. Until anyone actually gets a glimpse of those, who cares who's harassing the dev team?

Your etiquette is as poor as ever as is your understanding.
Three times now, guess this is a good way to weed out those that you should put on BLOCK list.

Hmmmm... maybe I should have flamed you, at least trolled you, as it seems that might have helped you gain some greater acceptance. =)
Bah... as I've said before.

Sorry to break it to you, pumpkin, but you dropped off my radar as an obnoxious but clearly irrelevant non-entity months ago when you made it abundantly clear that you couldn't or wouldn't follow an argument without twisting other people's meanings to serve as foils for your personal agenda.
Any right to civility, consideration or respect you may have had was lost in that process.

Riddari, keep on doing whatever you're doing.
Real RP needs the kind of backup to the Devs you're giving it. Ignore the kiddies and press on. Good luck.

EC, on the strenght of your "senseless idiocy" comment alone, I think it is fair to say you have redefined "snooty" and raised the bar for everyone else.
And why Riddari of all people should suddenly be beyond reproach is a plot twist straight out of CCP's hallmark fiction. And about as believable, too.
In case you failed to grasp the gist of my original post, let me summarize in a few (small) words so that you may perhaps address the issue rather than the guy who presents it: until CCP implement rp tools that actually work and serve their purpose, I couldn't give rat's bleeding ass about who's humping the dev's left leg and yapping about it on the forums - personal opinions, informed or otherwise, really are a long way from realities in-game and I'll gladly leave the wishful thinking to others.
That said, mind if I take your otherwise useless remark as a compliment from a past master who might well hold the patent on attitude?
Thanks. Out. |
