From the preliminary patch notes:
Graphics * Some prime planets have had their graphics changed to an enhanced and more detailed version.
Why only the prime planets?? That doesn't make any sense, i expected to see the new graphic for all the planets. Is this going to change?
I hope so.

Consider how many planets and planet textures there are in Eve. What would be easier for beta testing purposes, changing the textures on all of them at once or doing a select few and go from there? On an unrelated note, Kneel before Zod! |

To make them look like prime planets. Previously, most people didn't even know what a prime planet is.
Also, you should be glad Zulupark wasn't in charge of this, or they might have made all the non-prime planets uglier instead.

im sure i read somewhere there are roughly around 50,000 planets in eve.
reskinning every one would be a huge feat.
main planets are solid based and not the gas giants, then again thats still a good what 10,000 planets skinned.
maybe a link too that console basher dust

Will be nice once they move the stations closer and complete the graphics, then they should have more of an ooooh factor ------------------------------------------------ You either need a punch up the throat or a good shag.
Nobody round here is offering the second one therefore your choices are limited! |

Everyone knows that a prime planet is a planet divisible by one or itself. ___________________________________________________ Idea: Train 3 alts at the same time solution.

No no, it doesnt work that way, there are like, 3(random number) skins(differents textures) and when you update one object(one planet for exemple) with a 3D program or photoshop(lol, textures!) and then put them in the engine it update every single planet that was copy/pasted everywhere.
So, there is not a lot of different planet texture, they just copy pasted them all around the game, and when you update one, every others are updated as well. Must be the same object at least.

Originally by: CCP Chronotis Only a handful of the planet types have been made beautiful so far in this current build such as the core worlds (aka prime planets) (and those will get more prettier as better shaders are put in). The eventual plan is to bring the warp in points closer to the planets and we are also looking at moving the stations closer as well so you could have epic fights with the planets dominating the scene.
Does that answer your question? ----- Why doesn't anyone ever read the forums before posting? EVE is a game of adaptation and planning. Adapt or die. |
