What wasn't mentioned were the couple of russian lone-wolf bombers who scored a dozen or so kill on their own. Nice going bros.
edit: what i found interesting is that it seems the only good defense against organised bombing is to bubble your own fleet
and hope they get sucked into smartbomb range, which needless to say isn't optimal.

This sounds right as Init normally flys RR bs's and we didnt get many of them. Atlas on the other hand, well I hope there 6.5b in losses today was worth helping Tri keep a high end moon.

I could be wrong, but doesn't the game consider bombs to be separate entities from the ship that launched them? Say you pop a stealth bomber before the last bomb he launched goes off, seems like it would still go off anyway.

Bombs are not missiles - they don't require a lock to be fired or anything like that, they merely need to be launched.
Also, how is it possible to not expect this - we bombed Atlas/AAA on at least 4 separate occasions before this, although dealing far less damage then this time. A bomber decloaked another bomber withing sight of your scouts, we thought we had blown the entire operation.
Your side must have atrocious communication to not share this intel. Oh hey, these goons in local seem awfully familiar, didn't they bomb us last time? I see a decloaked manticore and purifier above the pos!, etc.

yes, bombs don't require lock and bombs still explode if you warp off
but they do not go off if the bomber is destroyed in the meantime.
but since even killmails show the shenannigans, so should the logs, right? .... right?

Well you did get Atlas entire fleet killed and just a few other BS kills and you lost 100% of your BS fleet (around 40). But still your 25 bombers killed 70 BS and your BS fleet killed nothing, i am very impressed by the bombers and how u used em.
I really think that the sniper fleets in 0.0 just draw their last breath, now there is no way you fly a sniper fleet in 0.0 and not get DD-ed or bombed
