A feature I liked from the InEve site, was that you could click on a skill category, and view a full rankings list of everyone for that category. This enabled people not in the top ten to be able to view other characters that were close to themselves in the rankings, and see who their closest rivals were :) Is there a possibility of adding this feature?

Now I can appreciate some people not wanting there name shown, but if that is the case then why sign up in the first place? If they wish to remain Anonymous then surely "No data" should appear for them and they shouldnt appear in the rankings. The same as when your isk balance, or current skill training is hidden, then No Data is displayed. The last thing we want is a top ten list full of "Anonymous", but that seems to be the way its heading atm.

Now I can see what I need to get to move up through the ranks :) One question though.. What is the formula for the points? No matter how many different ways I work it out I always come up with different points values. Edit: Security status goes up to 5 from running missions etc, but any higher you need to kill officer/commander spawn npcs in 0.0 space. (I think thats how it works anyway).

But we'll see what others think about it. If its a keeper then maybe add the formula to the page so people can understand how they are ranked where they are?

Currently I'm ranked 17th, but if I was given every skill in the game, and had them all at lvl 5 my global ranking would put me at 101st place. Think I'll just stop training now and stay where I am :P

But using the previous global rank instead as a test is a good way around it... Chribba, I approve.

Example:- I have the exact same skills as Tripoli except I dont have the titan skills. Now the 4 titan skills I dont have cost 19.8bil, but if you add that to my skills value I only go up to 26,603,719,500. But Trips is showing 28,803,719,500. Over 2 Bil isk difference

I started 21/11/03, just before that ability was taken away then, damn, I always curse myself for not starting the game back in May 03 .

Example, subsystems, 20 of them at rank 1 doesnt take long to train up and would boost the owners ranking in no time. There are many high ranking skills that take a lot longer just to get to lvl 4. Also you'd could end up with the similar Drahcir Nasom problem again. Someone could have a couple hundred lvl 4 skills and it would count for nothing yet the character would be very capable with that many lvl 4's. Eveboard Viggen

For example, I was previously ranked number one in the skills rank, but am now at number two behind Tripoli, dispite having the same number of skills and me having a higher global rank. Also learning skills, I've dropped to rank 52, whereas I've always been ranked around 11 or 12, so I'm now positioned below others with a lower global rank than me. Eveboard Viggen

I've always assumed its an average based on the following ranks:- Skillpoints, Skills, Level 3, 4 and 5 skills, All 17 skill categories, Total Certificates, Elite Certificates, Total Isk, Skills Isk Value. What am I doing wrong? Because if I input all the above into excel, I need to add an extra "adjustment" figure to the averages of like 1700 points to get the correct result. Yet when I do the same for another character in a similar ranking position to myself, that extra adjustment figure can be totally different again, (even a negative figure sometimes). The average of these ranks are what is used to work out your global/overall ranking. The Global/Overall rank is as it says, a score that shows how well rounded a character is. I too like to keep my character as well rounded as possible, being able to do everything, as you can see by my battle with Akilah to keep the number one spot Yes their are more specialised characters out there than mine, and for people who want to have the best skilled character in science or gunnery skills etc, they have their own ranking number one spot to reach as well :) Eveboard Viggen
