AsPis	Posted - 2004.10.25 15:11:00 - [1] Dear miners out there. I need some advice about setup on my Megathron. Like the topic says im mining in 0.1 system. Thats mean npc from 7k upto 100k ... The rats are Blood... soo the damage is EM adn THERMAL. I read on this forum about armor tanking and shield tanking. I cant choosie which one and what setup. I can add that im using 8 Ogre also. What i heard soo is armor tanking the best... 7 miner II and + 1 launcher (or Nos) 2 Large armor reapair + 1 EM Hardner + 1 Thermal Hardner ...and some cap recharger If i need cpu or powergrid and rest Cargo expander... plz help me out with this (maybe skip c.e. and use cap relays) (one problem with passive hardner is i only got Hull upgrade lvl 2... it can always be trained anyway) ps training upto lvl 3 now

Im not sure why youd bother mining in a 0.1 id just bite the bullet and mine in 0.0, there just as dangerous and player rats are expected anywhere below 0.5 so just make sure you expect it and can defend yourself.. Im not sure why youd bother mining in a 0.1 id just bite the bullet and mine in 0.0, there just as dangerous and player rats are expected anywhere below 0.5 so just make sure you expect it and can defend yourself.. You may get five in, but you might have to use four and a Co-Pro depending on skills. With this setup you can mine down to 0.0 providing you're picky with the spawns you're tanking. Safespot your Megathron, eject. Warp around the belts first in your pod looking for a spawn of four cruisers. Go back to your 'thron, board it and head to the belt. Depending on your skills, this setup will run both repairers and all Miners forever. Once you've got the spawn tanked, you can even throw out a full set of Harvesters.

Dennnnnis	Posted - 2004.11.01 12:16:00 - [15] If you're paranoid, you use a rubbish n00b ship, or dirt cheap frigate in the safespot to eject from, then go back to your base and collect the Megathron. I personally use my second account. I have a nice selection of pods in the station anyway so Account 2 finds the spawn and stays there while Account 1 brings the 'thron. But safespotting is OK - If you're doing this in 0.0 space then you'll have allies nearby and they won't pinch your ship.

The spawns are too easy that even with a large shieldbooster you can handle them.... and that leaves so many precious lowslots for warpstabs -you'll be dead if a player pirate jumps you even if you armor tank to hell anyway
