Hey since we're already going to see a lot of changes with the new expansion, would it be too much trouble to have half the Command Ships converted to use reskinned Tier 2 hulls?
Nighthawk --> Drake Eos --> Myrmidon Absolution --> Harbinger Sleipnir --> Hurricane
I realize that there's production issues with T2 builders who don't own the Tier 2 BPOs yet, as well as the Eos Problem (it's the only Fleet Command whose T1 prototype is Tier 2), but it sure would be nice to see. The Tier 1 BC hulls may be the nicest models in the game but the Tier 2 ones are pretty too and I for one would like to see more of them in different variants.

Edited by: Justin Cody on 30/09/2009 17:20:53 I think they should just expand the T2 lineup of BC's for Exploration and such... give them the ability to compensate for hostile environments in wormholes and exploration sites. This would be similar to the NPC deadspace rats being different from normal space pirates.
Each should have two variants, one combat based and the other more logistic based.
Drake a)Harrier (Lai Dai): Role - Short Range Explorer: With the advent of wormholes and a proliferation of deadspace pirate bases even in civilized Caldari space Lai Dai has stepped up to the plate with a serious supplement to the Caldari Home Guard's forces.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 5% shield resistance and 5% bonus kinetic damage of heavy missiles and heavy assault missiles T2 Class Skill Bonus: 7.5% to Heavy/Heavy assault missile velocity and 5% bonus to Heavy/Heavy assault missile velocity per level Role Bonus: +100% to probe strength, 99% reduction in CPU use for Warfare Links. b)Black Kite: (Ishukone): Role - Deep Space Exploration: With the expansion into the Black Rise the Caldari Navy required a new ship capable of contesting with difficult environments. Ishukone, as always answered the call.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 5% shield resistance and 5% bonus kinetic damage of heavy missiles and heavy assault missiles T2 Class Skill Bonus: +20% to Sensor Strength/level 10% immunity bonus/level to adverse effects of wormhole space. Role Bonus: +100% to probe Strength and 99% Reduction in CPU for Warfare Links.
Hurricane a) Tornado (Thukker Mix) - Rebuilding the shattered Republic, the Thukker Tribe introduced a new powerhouse into the navy based on the Hurricane.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 5% increase in projectile weapons damage and Rate of Fire T2 Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Afterburner boost amount/level 20% increase in sensor resolution/level Role Bonus: +100% to probe strength, 99% reduction in CPU use for Warfare Links. b) Novaya Zemlya (Core Complexion) - After the success of the Sabre class interdictor Core Complexion moved in an entirely new direction with the Novaya Zemlya.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 5% increase in projectile weapons damage and Rate of Fire T2 Class Skill Bonus: +20% to Sensor Strength/level 10% immunity bonus/level to adverse effects of wormhole space. Role Bonus: +100% to probe Strength and 99% Reduction in CPU for Warfare Links.
Myrmidon a) Mars (CreoDron) - Short Range Exploration - Facing immense challenges with a reinvigorated Caldari State the Navy required a ship capable of Advanced scout activities, but also durable.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 10% increase to drone hitpoints and damage dealt by drones, and 7.5% increase to armor repair amount per level T2 Skill Bonus: +10m3 to drone bay/level and +10Mbit to bandwidth/level Role Bonus: +100% to probe strength, 99% reduction in CPU use for Warfare Links. b) Tethys (DuVolle Labs) - Deep Space Exploration - Wormhole space threatens to destabilize security across the Federation, but also provides incredible research opportunities, and Duvolle Labs has seized upon this and is offering this hull variant to the Federation.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 10% increase to drone hitpoints and damage dealt by drones, and 7.5% increase to armor repair amount per level T2 Class Skill Bonus: +20% to Sensor Strength/level 10% immunity bonus/level to adverse effects of wormhole space. Role Bonus: +100% to probe Strength and 99% Reduction in CPU for Warfare Links.

Harbinger a) Empirical (Khanid Innovation) - Short Range Exploration - Used to probe the huge expanse of the Amarr Empire this first saw action in the Ammatar regions of Derelik and The Bleak Lands when the Khanid nation sent an expeditionary force to bolster the flagging Imperial Navy. They provided advanced sensor suites and good combat performance, to the electronically inferior naval.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 10% reduction in laser capacitor need and 5% bonus to laser damage per level. T2 Skill Bonus: 5% per level to RoF for medium energy turrets, 5% bonus to tracking speed of medium energy turrets/level. Role Bonus: +100% to probe strength, 99% reduction in CPU use for Warfare Links. b) Adumbrate: (Viziam) - Deep Space Exploration - In support of Jamyl Sarum's return Viziam developed a flagship hull for the new Queen of the Empire focused on the expansion of the empire and the re-invigoration of its people.
Battlecruiser Skill Bonus: 10% reduction in laser capacitor need and 5% bonus to laser damage per level. T2 Class Skill Bonus: +20% to Sensor Strength/level 10% immunity bonus/level to adverse effects of wormhole space. Role Bonus: +100% to probe strength, 99% reduction in CPU use for Warfare Links. I was disappointed when I saw that the Brutix hull had been given both Command Ship roles, but after finding another post on the subject I realised that those T2 ships had been released before the tier 2 BC's were introduced.
Not sure whether just swapping them over would work this late in the game, so I can't comment on that, would be nice but perhaps not realistic. But having a T2 role for the tier 2 BC's would be something I'd like to see.
Perhaps the exploration ships that were suggested may work, I too would love to get my hands on a T2 Myrm.

This has been asked many times, and the Devs have stated that they have other plans for the Tech II versions of the Tier 2 BCs.

Nighthawk and Abso were introduced long before those FUGLY drakes and bingers. Deal with it and stop beating the dead horse expressing the same crappy idea over and over again. This has already been proposed a gazilion times. ---[center] Please resize your signature to the maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |
