No. They have to be abandoned or the owning ship destroyed. Otherwise you could just scoop any drones attacking you into your cargo bay which would be handy but a bit unbalanced.

Plenty of them out there if you can find them, people leave them behind all the time. They are difficult to probe down but if you can use the directional scanner to find some in belts you can grab quite a few of the poor little things. ------------------------------------------------ You either need a punch up the throat or a good shag.
Nobody round here is offering the second one therefore your choices are limited! |

Just be sure to grind off the serial numbers and re-paint them in your corporate colors. That's what I do anyway.

Just to clarify, drones can become "abandoned" if the ship leaves the area.

I once found a frightened little drone all alone in a 0.1 asteroid belt. I patted him on the head and went on my way but the next thing I knew the little drone followed me home to empire space and just wouldn't go away. Well I had him spayed and neutered(because I wasn't sure if he was a boy drone or a girl drone)and I was in the process of getting him licensed by the Amarr Empire when a Titan ran over him as he was crossing the street. That was 6 years ago today and I still miss the litlle fella. Sad

I take abandoned drones all the time. If I go into a belt, I see drones, I wait a few to see if the owner comes back, if not I steal them.
I think not, therefore I am not. |

Don't lie. We all know Titans were first released for civilian use four years ago. ---
