Tacklers and logistics and other non-combat ships are often overlooked in kill mail stats as they usually don't deal any damage to the enemy. (Tacklers will show up i know...at the bottom of the list...and points can be calculated via size of enemy and ur ship size etc(Which also seems unbalanced))
Pure logistics would be completely left out if using drones for logistics as well and no room for guns.
Would be nice to display combat stats for remote repping, warp scrambling time, webbing time, nos amount, neut amount, ecm time, target paining etc, etc.
Other additions like 'first strike' stat would be cool too. Combat time : from first action to destruction of ship I'm sure many can be thought off that would identify pilot skill and worth to the corp in fleet combat.
Stats are fun! Anyone? But in the end of the day, DPS is what wins wars.

I agree with this. Especially since a lot of corps / alliances give rewards and stuffs to the top killboard guys. Well, what if I tackle 100 out of 100 ships killed, but no guns, so winner killed 20 of them? Or I'm the repper of the fleet? No KB stats at all. Some love for the non-dps dealers of the fleets please

It's a good idea, I guess the only issue is how far up the chain you go. A logistics ship that directly aids others who actually do the DPS to kill a target should appear on the killmail, but what about someone who aids the logistics ship. Also, what should be considered as "aid"?
Right now it's relatively simple to work out who contributed towards someones demise either through doing direct damage to them or some other negative effect (even if its inconsequential, e.g. like pointing someone who has several points on already, or a token target painting, etc)

this is all stuff that should be worked out by the players. also, the points for a kill has nothing to do with eve. shut up.

Do the scouts 3 systems over get on the KM? What about the tacklers on the other side of they gate incase your target disengages and jumps through? How about the ecm guy that's waiting to warp in at range but gets there too late? What about the guy in the battleship that can't get a lock soon enough to get on anything smaller then a HAS before it melts?
Who cares who's on the kill mail? If your side is wining and your are helping, what's the problem? If yer really that much of a KM ***** fly a 'ceptor for tackle. You can get on just about every kill mail your fleet gets.

Agreed, especially when a tackler might of done all the work chasing someone and finally scramming/webbing them down.

This doesn't really seem important to me. The game will never be smart enough to really recognize each pilot's contribution to a battle, so little additions like this will wind up like the awards in Mario Party, random handouts for obscure distinctions. Instead, let the fleet commander give out minor citations on a per-sortie basis, and have killboards use API to track medals and give out points. If you get a "Fleet Support" award in your Basilisk, that earns you points in accordance with your corp's board rules. Earn it five times in a week, and you'll be outscoring that hotshot Nighthawk pilot who's been ganking WTs in high-sec all month. Crusades: Security Status |
