I understand, missions are boring. Gate travel is boring. So, the developers decided to liven things up on the test server by including what I can only describe as "insane radio chatter."
The more enemies on the screen, the louder it is. As you kill them, things quiet down. It's a simple formula. You warp into a mission and are bombarded with not only weapons but an insane cacophony of yelling, radio static, blips, and other sounds I can't discern.
I feel like my ears are being ****d. The only solution to avoid this madness is to lower the world volume. However, I like to hear my guns shooting, and missiles exploding.
Please don't finalize this change. I'll have to start playing without world noises (or significantly reduced) if you do, and that's just not any fun.
P.S. If it was an ambient background noise that didn't take up 90% of the audible landscape, maybe like 10-15%, that would be bearable while still adding a little to the experience.

Zoom out a bit in the opposite direction from said Rats/NPCs. This for me, dimms it enough that it is bearable. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

About time NPC's starting smacking! Now add the option to have it typed out in local and it will be just like real people!!
CCP are notorious for overdoing new sounds, guess they want to profile the generally awesome job their composer do. You see (or hear as the case may be) the same in some stations and the old warp sound that was like a jet taking off next door.
Bug report it and have it normalized, they need the written/logged word for anything to get done I think

Reduce the level of the world volume slider a bit.

I hated when they added some traffic noise outside the stations. have had all unnecessary noises turned off from thenon. I understand some background noices every now and then but continuos meaningless noise is nothing but annoyance.
The way i would understand those noises should be made is to randomly activate quite short background noise. like 1 random sound out of 50 possible that lasts 2-6 seconds every 30-60seconds. that way it wouldn't be mind tearing repetitive nor constant meaningless and pure annoyance but would still deliver the message.
Station inside sounds are just terrible also.

How really really cool and original you are
On the other hand i like the idea about NPC radio transmissions but atm the ones on SiSi sounds more like a football game commentators or box match announcers
It will be cool if we can hear radio transmissions with static noise, not people yelling through some space megaphones. I doubt it will be so hard to just record a few phrases and mix them with some white noise for authentic sound.

Yes! radio chatter needs reduction! Couldnt there be more of a slight industrial sounds instead. The gates will dominate a gate camp.
