Currently slaves must be either held, used as lifestock, or trashed. And while on the subject, why can Freed Slaves be bought and sold?
Why is there no mechanism for setting them free? Would not a government reward brave capsuleers who took the risk to free their people?
I know this is a game, but I don't like the idea of one human owning another. Give me a way to set them free.

Sure you can free slaves...
The correct procedure is:
1) Put slaves in the cargo hold of active ship 2) Undock 3) Eject slaves from cargo 4) Shoot the cargo can...
... et voila... free slaves...

what i do is
1. get a newbship
2. put slaves in cargo bay of the newbship
3. eject from the newbship, but with a autopilot course for minmatar space laid
so all they have to do is get to the bridge and press the button that activates the autopilot

Lovely idea ^^ i have had a group of militants in my cargohold for a couple of days now. I cant sell them but I cant trash them neither I ll dump them in open space - even if they re militants.

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?
Perhaps I can make a better case of it: -One of the factions (Amarr?) freed slaves. If this is the case, why can't I give freedom so some thing I dont believe should be held? -This would open up another type of play. You could have missions where you have to fly the slaves to freedom. -You could earn faction for setting slaves free. (Provided you had proof that is what you were doing if you were stopped by customs... perhaps a Writ of Freedom.) A reward wouldnt be out of the question for certain factions who have been enslaved in the past. -The Writ of Freedom could cost you faction and fine if found during a customs search. And could multiply a fine if found at a slave holding customs stop while you had slaves on board. -It gets slaves out of the system for those of us who chose not to throw them away. Slightly less computer resources clogged up. If I cant free them, I'm not going to just toss them, even if they are just virtal. -Its a nice thing to do anyway. (So I'm idealistic, so what?)

Unfortunately Eve has become 85%+ MMO and just 15%- RPG. Guess there is no money to be had making a RP focused game these days
Was kind of hoping that they were going to use FW as a platform for a push back to old-school RP events but it never happened ...

Actually, I can see a lot of potential with such a mechanic. It could be expanded to include other things, such as militants (you could get them enlisted with a navy or somehting). It could also tie in with dust. As long as it's not just limited to slaves, the possibilities are only limited by your imaginatrion.

Please, just implement it.
Its absolutely no big deal - since "releasing" is in programming code nothing else but "trashing".
"Trashing human lifes" in a vid game is far more strange than any Third Reich sign to me.
