In other words, core systems are sec 1.0 and as you get closer to the borders the sec rating drops and you have less backup from your faction. All stations are within weapon range of stargates. Then players can donate mined resources and salvaged parts to a star system and the game will be used to build defensive stations and thereby gain control of a star system for their faction. Basically, even a new player could immediately contribute to such a system and other faction allies would be motivated to help them succeed. Right now it's just me helping myself and making not a damn bit of difference.
In eve after you have finished the tutorial you should join a player corporation. It will drasticaly change your experience of the game.

Go to a trade hub. The major ones are Jita, Amarr, Rens, Oursulaert. You can get everything you need there in 1 station. There a few more, albeit a bit smaller, trade hubs. Just check the market.

PvP doesn't work this way in eve. There is no way to give you any figures like this.
