(1=way worse, 5=same as TQ, 10=OMG this is awesome): Cant compare, never been in such a big fleet # Describe your experience, make comments, suggestions, etc. :
Hello, here's my experience from the mass fleet test. Got to the spot only for the second part just before the POS bashing.
Was running two clients optimized for quality (normally getting above 50fps in most situations). But just before the POS bashing still near station the clients were running smoothly at around 15fps. The only annoying thing was the client lag mostly caused by tons of flashing backgrounds (my overview setup). Minimizing the overview gained another 4fps up to almost 20fps and made the client respond smooth as well.
Then we warped at the POS - fps dropped to 5fps max (fully zoomed out) ! Happily achieved target lock on both clients and tried to shoot the thing. Out of four guns (Marauders) one max two responded. Had to turn on each one separately. But to reach the optimal was impossible ! I didn't dare to zoom in to see if the cause was too many ships between my and the pos - which was the most probably - instead I tried to switch ammo. Managed doing so just before the POS shields went down - each gun had to be turned off separately, they just didn't react to my mass command of pressing four buttons in row. Then I just waited till the pos died - had to reload only once.
After that, during the Sleepers raid I got much better client-server responsivity - even managed to lock all of one type on both clients, managed to move the ships to optimal and shoot the same target by both clients !
Was my first time in 100+ pvp, next time I definitely will go for client optimized for performance :) And maybe even only one client ... |
