Not sure where to post this, but hopefully here will be ok.
I'm interested in a CCP internship, but i'm not really sure if i meet the requirements to be honest. I have now finished my degree which was in multimedia technology, which involved several different modules. I have done some 3D modeling (3D Max) and graphic design (mainly with photoshop) but don't have extensive knowledge on either.
Realistically how experienced should interns be prior to applying ?
A reply from CCP staff would be appreciated, thanks. |

your quite a go-getter there and have shown them (CCP) you are more than willing to put out the absolute minimum and expect them to hand hold and in this case do the work for you.
If you want to work for a company show them as well as demonstrating you can do the job show them you want to do it for that company. Show initiative , understanding of the company and industry, as well as you own skill and work ethic.

I'd apply for the internship anyway, a forum post is likely to be overlooked IMHO.

Why don't you get a clue, of course i have already seen that website. It doesn't have enough information which is why i wanted a response from CCP and not people like you. |

If you are interested in getting some insight into the inner workings of the game industry then I recommend you take a look at Gamasutra.
Internships are costly things for companies. Its extra time spent training and setting up for an employee that is possibly only temporary. Make sure you want to work in that kind of environment first.

AS Chribba pointed out had you read the links he or I provided you would see what to do if you want to work CCP and there is no current offering that covers your skillset or location.
The clue I have is you would be a bad intern - You apparently do not work independently and cannot read and follow directions. While asking for assistance if you don't understand is a good thing a products sub forum is not a good place to expect a response. You would also figure that posting in one of the companies sub forums for a product does not exactly scream out for a corporate answer. If you want to impress a company and show them you want to work for them be proactive.
Figure out how to show you want and would be an asset to the company or learn to say ' Would you like fries with that' and 'Is that a large soda?' .

Some better advice, I asked this at Fanfest:
Does CCP have an internship program?
"Yes, we work through MIT in the US for special projects involving HSD, Networking, Infinband, etc..."
If you want to live in Atlanta or Iceland then look at the lower level jobs like QA and testers, those jobs are your ticket into the company and after you prove you can handle basics you can move into advanced things.
Keep in mind working for CCP you have to be a bit crazy as their known for upgrading to 64 bit over a weekend and are on first name basis with people at IBM, Intel, and other big names in the computing world.
Anyone:
If your in the Portland OR. area and want to work in the tech sector as an intern please feel free to email: paulx.b.brinker (at) intel.com <broken to stop spam bots> Intel has openings for software validation and testing interns.

If lack of money weren't keeping me from getting on a plane with a bag of clothes and necessities, I would apply to CCP as well. Hell I would have done it months ago. Damn economic climate...
On another note, how do you like your pods in the morning? |
