if you own a pos and its full of labs you should be able to allow the public to rent your research slot from a station within in the system if they have the right skill for remote acces but it should be secure so they cant enter the pos and cant see/take anyone elses bpo's and they dont have any control over your labs except for the jobs they are doing in it.
just an idear as i have a pos and i find its not profitable to have one realy.

Not to be harsh mate, but if you're not finding your POS to be profitable, then that implies to me that you're not using it right. Mine's made me a lot of money since I first anchored it.

yep maybe but i still think you should be able to rent reseach slots to the public.

I'll bump this.
It would be awesome to run a public-service corp that provides research and manufacturing slots to the general population.
I understand CCP are having problems getting around the security aspects of allowing public rentals on player-owned structures, but it would solve the issue of high-sec labs having 30-day waiting queues, as intended.

I totally support this.
In the current state of affairs, if I want to specialize in BP research, I have to keep in mind that research slots are near-impossible to find unless I have a POS of my own.
That forces me to train skills for it, save money for expensive POS structures, find a place to anchor it all and then supply it with fuel and what not... All of this just because I wanted to research some blueprints? Come on!
This basically says "If you want to be a scientist, first you have to be a POS logistics technician" That really wastes precious training time and goes against the freedom of career choice EVE is supposed to offer...
...not to mention how much ISK it requires just to get started. Where am I supposed to make that ISK if I have yet to start my business?
Therefore, I, again, completely support this idea. Until I could have my own labs I would DEFINITELY rent some from you.
NOTE: Rental cost per hour/day should depend on job type and the profitability of the BP your customer wants to research.
