I am a new player so forgive my ignorance. But why do people love the Guristas so much? I know they have a cool logo and name but arnt they NPCs who attack everyone? I have heard of corps role playing relations to Guristas but I only know of a few. |

Its a mix of several things.
People like shooting guristas because you have the best loot. (Arbalest Heavy Missile Launchers and Pith _-Type drops, anyone?)
People like role playing as them because they are the closest to typical 'YARR!' Piracy that we imagine - they are motivated Mainly by greed, they honor ransoms, and they dont particularly enjoy murdering people. I suppose its because Guristas appeal so much to that sane, decent human inside us.
Also, Missiles and Drones and Blocky ships Ahoy!

Blood are crazy and weird. Sansha are horrifying and weird. Angel are evil and weird. Serpentis are weird squared. Guristas are just ******* pirates.
OP, do both pirate epic arcs; you'll like the Guristas. |

The fact that they keep at range makes them easy to blow apart with my artillery cannons. As opposed to Angels which run straight at you.
Space. It seems to go on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you. |

Nope, enjoy this description of the Venal region: Fighting the Guristas is one of the few things the Caldari State and Gallente Federation agrees on, but a lack of coherent action on their part means the increasing power the Guristas enjoy in the outer regions is only slowed down, not stopped.

I heard saying there's an enormous concentration of tech moons in Guristas space and also because shield tanking > armor tanking+guristas = Guristas faction loot is for sure the most interesting isk reward in the game, bounties too, however their salvage sucks ass

because most eve players are caldari, most popular ships are drake and tengu and they have kinetic dmg bonus (prefect for guristas)
incoming dmg kin/thermal is easly tanked on shield - point for caldari again

Being an alumni of the Guristias Associates the faction will always remind me of some pretty bad ass yarrage.

I agree, but lately I am finding dampers to be equally annoying. I never noticed how annoying until I moved from a drake to a raven 90km targeting range dropped to 25 on a low tank high dps kite fit FTL.  |
