Edited by: Jogyn on 23/10/2009 00:14:24 Im with the op on this one.
Back in the day i used to own the Anja dyspro moon back before the 2nd delve war, times were good and I was making HUGE ammount of isks. Then i forgot to fuel it, and all the guns went offline. So Shadoo~ got mad and took my moon and gave it to xxxangelx! Clearly the devs should do something about this, and limit the ammount of r64 angel can own when i got none at all.

SERIOUS POST
to the OP:
Firstly, despite the massive amounds of sarcasm, alot of these guys are right. They too started where you are now, dont ever forget that.
Secondly, this is EvE. If you want to acheve (did you see that!?!) anything in this game you have to be proactive about it. Its like real-life...if you want a job, you cant just **** around through school and university and get an awesome job...you gotta be motivated.
1) Form an alliance with other lowsec corporations and take moons by force.
2) Scout for moons owned by smaller alliances/corps and get all the intel you can on them. Then when you are satisfied with the information, make a decision whether to wardec them or not.
3) Join a large alliance with good moons who can offer you one.
I dont believe you worked your butt off *as a corp* for all those years. Ive only had my corp for just over a month and with some *mild* effort we have managed to achieve a bit. If by working hard you mean every corp member has been working hard at mining and sell ore for their own gain then yea id believe that.

what should the devs do about that? And, another question, why should they do something at all for a sandbox advertised game? Sometimes, the moons are hold by alt-corps of the mentioned big alliances, so as soon as devs would put some restriction on how many moons a corp/ally may hold, they would just create another alt-corp for that job.
A bigger blob of people is simply a bigger blob of people, which would still bust your ass into hell for these moons. But, wait for dominion, I think the moons and their minerals will be devalued finally(i hope so).

This was already answered. We took the moons in the first Delve campaign, long before any alliance disbanding hanky panky (which happened considerably later, launching the second delve campaign).
Here are two scenarios for contesting R64s that might be illustrative of the reason there's some chestbeating going on ITT:
Scenario 1: A small, poor, but plucky alliance moves into a new region, controlled by a powerful, rich, large alliance. The latter are spread out, though, and don't really use the region outside of passive income sources like the R64 moons. The plucky alliance starts hitting those moons, and initially, the controlling alliance responds with overwhelming force, carrier and subcapital fleets to repair the towers, occasionally ambushing the small alliance's fleets. Later, the response gets smaller and smaller, and eventually moons switch hands. Those are usually contested again, and sometimes lost, but the overall result is that the small alliance is able to be annoying and persistent enough to rip away some income from the bigger alliance. This in turn might provide capitals and other support to take more moons, or defend the ones held already, etc.
Scenario 2: A small, but plucky alliance lives in a region where they're the primary power, or there is no controlling entity. One day, a big, rich alliance comes in and takes every good moon in the region, with overwhelming force. Maybe they have 50+ dreadnoughts, and multiple titans. The small alliance doesn't have the resources to fight back, so they don't. For the next year or two, the small alliance doesn't once try and take any of the moons back, because the big alliance would overwhelm them, despite being occupied elsewhere and not living remotely nearby. Eventually, members summon the courage to post on EVE-O about how all the good R64s are claimed and the system is unfair.

The only thing I got from the OP was if you complain enough and want hard enough then you should have. Its sad that mothers continue to breast feed kids till a rather later stage in their life. Or get school paid for by someone, or have things done for by the influence of who they know.
These people are how ever comical in real life kind of make me sad how they believe real life operates in such a manor.

There are a few theories about it. The first is that BoB was too arrogant to consider PL a threat and just let those moons be, to be retaken when actually needed. The second is that BoB didn't attack PL in Fountain because they thought they could get fights at a later time. The third is that BoB didn't attack Fountain because they were tired after the Delve War. The fourth is that BoB didn't want to have blues in Fountain because they believed that the region was too hard to keep under control, and installing vassals would backfire if they were left alone to die (Fountain has a few dedicated roamers/griefers and they're good at what they do, sup GK). They then decided to consolidate Delve/Period Basis and the fact that they bothered little with fortifying Querious tells that the core of a BoB defense would've always been Delve, and rightly so because Querious has 4 important systems and the rest has little strategic value. The fifth is that BoB was planning MAX and didn't want to start a war during the summer, skipping Fountain altogether to go play with the NC.
Personally, I think it's a bit of all. -clp

Anyone that has had any dealings with the OP in the past knows his idea of "Busting his ass" is continuously comming up with excuse after excuse as to why his corp cant move to 0.0 and set up poses immediatly after claiming to live in Razor space for more than 3 yrs.
and if you are gonna rant about getting kicked out of an alliance, atleast tell the truth about why you were removed from said alliance. You were removed for A. the aformentioned excuse after excuse after excuse...rant...complain kick the dog, excuse, go offline for 3 mo , comback, then once showing up in fountain after arguement after argument, FAIL pvp, death distruction, "what is anyone going to do about these reds in system chasing me? ", " isnt PL or SOT gonna help kill these guys?" emo rage excuse.
And you people think Im fail? this guy is fail basted in FAIL SAUCE on a side of fail.

You win the Master Of The Obvious award.
In case you've missed it, we're talking about when these types of actions "were" possible. I'm sure most people (who actually know how to play the game) agree that this is no longer very feasible, given the entities holding the R64 moons mentality and numbers capability.
Stick with the current time frame people are talking about. Unless you're a BoB alt, who still dreams that they live in Delve and just arse spanked ASCN in a mighty VICTORY.

Originally by: Malcorian Vandsteidt So I'm an Indy guy, do some pvp on my combat char to but anyway, I have a bit of a rant for you.
I've been playing EvE for the last 4-5 years but I've never really got into Moon mining, Well some research shows it can be very profitable for the Corp/Alliance, after the Grievance issue everyone heard about, Athlon spazzing going mental and basically destroying the alliance.... I could use a bone (Was one of the corps that got screwed).
So I fit up my Anethema and take off with multiple websites and eve maps at my control and dashboard.
I spent 2 days mapping out Moons and pos's searching for a moon that would help jump start my corp and get us into the fast-lane to were we've been trying to get for the last year or so, Busted our asses Not much to show for it in the long run. So I figure hey 200+ mil a day sounds good to me.
First stop is the Aridia Region, I really like this region, So anyway I find out that there are about 6 Dys moons, and about 7-8 Promethium moons More if you count the ones in the close systems right next to the regions entrances and exits.
So I go to each and every single moon containing said minerals and I find every single one is taken by a HUGE alliance which knows who they are but will remain unnamed due to my respect for them. Needless to say I'm a little disapointed that the only moons available are crap and not even worth the POS fuel.
So I move on to the Khanid Region where I find the SAME alliance owns 4/7 of the moons in that region of the same types.
I'll save you all the rest, basically this alliance Owns about 18 Dys moons and 20 promethium moons spread out over 4 regions in lowsec.
And that's not even including their massive 0.0 areas.. That's like 20 billion a day in moon minerals.... I mean.. WoW.
After careful study and search in other regions nearby I find Goon and AAA have some also but not nearly as much as the Unnamed Alliance. I think the average is 10/2 Unnamed/others.
So I head up to Razor space and NC area to check out that stuff, Same situation only it's Razor and WI in the majority.
What I want to know from the devs is why HUGE allainces like this are allowed to own the majority of rare moons in Lowsec when they have all they need in 0.0. It seems a bit unfair to us little guys who bust our ass to make a dime and get nothing for it.
There should be a limit on how many of these rare moons a single corp / Alliance can have, Or take the systems with 150 moons in .1 .2 .3 systems which have 0 on any of their moons and put stuff on them.
So after 2 days of searching and finding nothing I can say I learned a lot about Moon mining and minerals but over all it was a huge waste of time. Everything of any remote value in eve is already taken, Which leaves those of us trying to make it work out of luck.
One of these moons, Just 1 owned by a corp is a free Ride for the rest of the time they play eve as long as they hold it. One moon averages an output of 240 - 350 million ISK a day. (Dys moons, Prom moons are around 150-200 million a day)
I love the unnamed alliance don't get me wrong several of my corpies have mains in it, but seriously guys throw us little guys a bone here please. Do you really need that many moons? in Lowsec? When your Building titans in 0.0 with the same moons up there?
If you have one you can spare in the Aridia region wed love to have it. Would really help us get on our feet to where we need to be to help you all out later on.
Obama can fix this! its nonsense someone in this game has something that another pilot doesnt have. everyone deserves free healthcare and a highend moon.

This post is pointless. To the OP: If you want the high end moons so bad then recruit pilots, buildup your cap fleet, make friends, and take the moons by force. Otherwise stop whining. Your basically asking for a moon to be handed to you on a silver platter. Do you know how many ships are lost for the defence of a dys/prom moon? If you can't hang with the big boys then get out of the kitchen.
