I seem to remember the PA were given the same opportunity to reconsilidate our differences, shortly after the crielere event incident where 2 Evol directors were shot at in PA held space that started the war.
The only difference is FA took there chance and PA didn't and now PA are wishing they did 5 months on.
And that is the most important thing an alliance can learn out of this.
If you destroy a ship, sometimes it's better to apologise and do things the correct way than to allow stupid pride to destroy your alliance.
Anyone who looks at PA now can see exactly what will happen to an alliance if you choose the pride and arrogance over common sense and diplomacy.

but u r right BOB wanted FA to go to war who the hell cares if they lose 1 frig 70 jumps away and who brings 3 indies with them if there not planning a war.

Without Evol your nothing, i have great respect from Evolution, but for you, your nothing but kling-ons (haha) so, dont smack anyone because you are no-one without your bigger, badder brothers to protect you.

We have people who think that they have saved face/lost face by backing down from BoB and there's speculation about whether or not they would have gained face/lost face from engaging them.

Gained diplomatic points by being diplomatic and not engaging in battle
Lost some diplomatic points for rolling over and accpting heavy losses to a smaller force
Lost combat points by not engaging a small number of corps over massive ship losses to their side (and not even fighting)
Gained combat points by not engaging over somerthing that was their fault origonally.
Ah well, October surprise over.

I think you have problems with seeing how things really are. PA is so used to the war, I wouldn't be surprised if we would fall apart once the war ends. I.e. I personally see no point in playing without a war. I made about 700mill isk profit during the war, so I can't complain about any difficulties with mining or NPCing. I killed 39 BoB ships, so I can't complain about a lack of fun. I am very glad that PA leaders have balls and decided to fight. I won't say what I think about FA, you can guess it
The fact that you fight for half a year now and still did not win shows pretty well what threat you are to an alliance that has no fear of anybody: None. I see BoB ships as my personal entertainers.

The rest of your alliance is in empire, doing whatever they do in empire.
The only fighting you do is warping in 250+kms from a gate and snipe at any frigates that might be there, Ive not once seen you actually participate in an actual fight.
Call that fun? Fair enough, I know what I'd rather be doing..
