Just updated to Windows 7 and for the most part EVE is running great, however when keeping it in windowed mode, when you drag it to the top of the screen Windows will compress it a little to make it fit and you end up with little lines where text does not display correctly. Not a big deal, just wondering if anyone knew how to fix it.

this is not an eve issue but a new design to windowing in widnows...
control panel -> ease of access -> change how mouse behaves -> check box says
"Prevent windows from being automatically arrange when moved to the edge of the screen"

This also solved my problem of EvE always staying on top of other windows. Thanks for the tip!

I am having this same issue as well, and while it isn't the end of the world, sometimes the missing lines of pixels is in just the right spot that i can't properly read a sentence. Also running in windowed mode, with the Aero window organization feature turned off. I've tried a variety of things, including changing the depth format, the color depth, and interval, and all it seems to do is move the missing pixel lines around, not actually getting rid of them.

I found this program averts the issue:
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1040956
By automatically setting the program's title bar as high as possible, not only does it make it look damn good but it stops Windows 7 from "compressing" the window. What seems to be happening is Windows attempts to fit the remaining 2 or 3 pixel lines that hangs off by "compressing" the window, and in effect removes a few horizontal lines of pixels in the process.
Carmina's issue is probably from trying to move the window higher, and each time Windows resizes it, and more pixels are lost. The program linked above is very simple, doesn't install (just a raw .exe) and runs in the background. Hopefully this gets you back to normal

Heyooo
I'm having the same problem; and I already use the EVE Windowed mode helper prog.
I've turned off the automatic relocation of widows in Win7, but I still get the odd pixelated line.
It sucks.

Basicly sounds like the window is getting resized to a different size then the renderer things. Use your desktop resolution in EVE and the eve window helper. Or use a resolution you know you can see without problems even with the borders and task bar stuff. _

Someone linked in my thread that this might be my problem.
I fixed my issue.
Stop forcing AA into eve. The filter.
Then let your monitor do the auto adjust by hitting auto. Or do the adjustments urself.
That fixed it for me. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe. ------------------------ Life sucks and then you get podded. |
