so I got eve running on ubuntu 9.10, at first i was having an issue with the game hanging on the splash screen then disappearing but I read that spamming multiple clients will give you one working one oddly enough and using that little workaround I'm in, however I need to run two accounts. so anyone else figured out a way to do this?

I've found that with the splash screen dispearing that happens on mine(I think this is the same issue). If I click and drag the splash screen around, it loads about 95% of the time.

This odd "fix" works for me aswell, but something more like 50% of the times, but hey i guess thats better then nothing.

Odd -- I don't have to play the splash-jiggle game, one works fine for me. But, I am unable to run more than one client at once, and I need to run two. Any suggestions?

Edited by: tyrol on 01/12/2009 17:42:19 sometimes if you spam the clients, with this bug, they tend to all run in the background even though it looks like its failed to load and you find your system grinding to a halt after a short while.
Best way to run two clients on linux in my experience though is two seperate installs. Ive been running multiple clients for a while now and I have no issues

yeah all instances you launch that die after the splash hang out in the background, might want to kill them off to keep the from stackin up.
easyest way i've found is somthin like:
Quote:
me[media]# ps -C ExeFile.exe PID TTY TIME CMD 613 ? 00:00:04 ExeFile.exe 657 ? 00:00:04 ExeFile.exe 680 ? 00:00:18 ExeFile.exe 691 ? 00:00:22 ExeFile.exe 2812 ? 04:16:35 ExeFile.exe me[media]# kill 613 657
