Like I said: "Wrong? Nope." Yeah. I don't approve of that kind of play; but I'd probably still do it and salve my guilt after the PB game by buying the dude a case of beer.
Lost three ships to PCs in one night. I keep going back to that one 0.4 system to try out different fittings and hunt NPC pirates. It's only one jump away from home where I still have ten ships stowed. 2 Iterons, a couple Navitas, a pair of Imicus, an incursus a cruiser and two Catalysts. Right now I'm saving up for a Thorax; take that out and see what happens.

Why do you think podding an opponent is "unfair"? There are several good reasons to kill someone's pod over and above the most fundamental one of it being fun.
Eg: To get them out of local so they cant pass on intel or warn other targets To shut them up To inflict additional economic damage on them in order to weaken their resistance To deprive their corp/alliance of their help for the time they take to replace implants To reduce the numbers in local, helping with lag Too bad you were in smartbomb/bomb range (collateral damage)
Or to send them straight back to their base where they can jump right back in a ship and come back to have it happen all over again !
or in my case my previous base where i have nothing left as my freighter lifted it all XD silly me

Nothing like watching a pirate Vagabond / Taranis / Sabre / <insert relevant fast-get-the-fark-out ship> scatter when I'm ratting in my humble little Sacriledge and instead of safe-spotting, I warp to the gate...
Lets face it, most pirates are cowards and don't like a remotely fair fight.. except maybe Garmon...he is nuts!

Dont go after rare loot, just mine in low security systems and buy loot with the money you make. 3.) Go play a game where no one can attack you. 4.) Stay docked all the time
I hate losing ships to pirates too. But I LOVE beating teh crap out of pirates. (snip)
what about when you cant shoot back? say your corp gets a few pirates(grieffers) and then decide to kill you mining op in high sec and then run off 30+ jumps away? log off delete their toons and reroll another one and repeat with another corp?
i mean i love pirates who actually fight, i love kicking their asses (or at least attempt to ) i am perfectly fine with that in fact i encourage it since its what makes the game. but when you cant shoot back because of game mechanics there is that jsut breaks the game. (specially when they have 3 friends and 15 drones armor repping them from another corp, so we cant touch them either. we can have a fleet of **** shooting but 3 ships armor repping + 15 drones? nothing can be done other than bend over and hope it does not hurt to much

Excellent viewpoint, well expressed, thanks. I feel exactly the same way and have linked this article from our own forums. Cheers!
