This 0.01 gambler destroy the market. That's all.
Think for a minute. There's one of him with his 10000 units. There's hundreds of small guys like you with their 1 or 2 items. Where does he draw the line? Do they let all of you "get your sale in",, by which stage you've gotten "one more item",, should he let you in then too to get your sales?
Next thing you know, and hundreds of items sold later, the guy with 10,000 items hasn't sold a thing. And before you know it, market saturation slowly steps in and the profit margins become thinner and thinner.
So no, he shouldn't wait for you. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the frypan. That's what people with buy orders on the market are waiting for.

Also dont assume others building the modules for "losses" are getting their materials from the same place you are.
So why again would you take 60 million in materials to build something that sells for 40 million, and not sell that 60 million?
If I suddenly get 200 mil of materials "for free", why do I want to turn them into something that'll return far less?
"Because I had the BPC leftover and had to use it" doesn't really cut it either,, just sell the materials and give the damn BPC away or trash it, you'll still make more money.
Quote: if you run the supply chain from start to finish then the only hard cost is time and POS fuel. how you value your time and how others value theres is different.
you only see them selling at a loss because you value your time more they do.
I can see that this is just going to devolve into a "My materials are free" discussion, which fundamentally doesn't really change the point of my argument.
When there's two items on the market with *identical* build requirements, and one is clearly *better* than the other (which is why some items are well worth manufacturing and others aren't), it damns the lesser of the items to being neglected completely. If anyone thinks that's a fantastic piece of game design, then please, go to CCP and ask them to make a new version of each battleship that costs the same amount of materials but is only half as effective as the standard battleship.
EDIT: tl;dr as always, my problem isn't with any effect on me, it's no big drama for me to choose to manufacture something more profitable. My issue is with sloppy game mechanics, and this is one of them.
Free markets always correct themselves.
your tl;dr is exactly right, it doesn't effect you. you will build something else that is more profitable, others will do the same. the supply of those "cheap" items will dry up and prices will rise. just because every t3 print you have doesn't build a "profitable item" does not mean the system is broken. the funny thing is that over time those other items you find more profitable will decrease as supply come up and then you will be crying about this whole issue again.
TL;DR working as Intended
