I tried to warn them. They ignored me. They deserve what they get.

This is supposed to be made by isk sellers? That would be a lot of effort. Also, they have their RL Bulgarian adress on their website. And in Bulgaria, hacking is illegal as far as I know.
Is it their real address?

I can summarize my entire feelings for this game in a single word:

I can't. I think it's pretty fascinating. Like watching a car accident, it's not pretty, but you just can't watch the other way.

Heh, reading their "manual", it sounds like they "figured that out" by making them separate types of objects and simply forcing you to only manufacture from BPCs ("licences") instead of allowing you to build from BPOs ("patents").

Actually it not a bad game at moment even tho it in closed beta at moment. There is a lot more that's very similar to EvE once you get playing.

Originally by: Bekka Jae Wow this is a pretty blatant ripoff. I smell a lawsuit coming...maybe. If this game is out of China, there may be nothing CCP can do as Chinese laws against media piracy are weak to virtually non-existant.
Actually, it doesn't fall under copyright laws, as established by Microsoft v Apple, except in countries where you can pay the judges or jury to give you the required result. What you see there is a typical windowing GUI, for which there are mountanous amounts of prior art.

The game doesn't look that appealing IMO. But to those claiming plagiarism, you do realize that EVE is largely based on Elite, which has inspired dozens of similar games over the past three decades, don't you?

hey EVE needs some competition. Saints Row got slammed for being ripoff of GTA, but if you play the game, its clear it was made by fans of GTA who made changes that a lot of gamers wished were in GTA.

Edited by: Jonny Lumi on 31/10/2009 06:10:03 Oh crap, I just remembered how damn cool things Mechs are. Need to check this game later.
Oh yeah, UI has similar things, but hey... Amiga 1000 had similar windows in its OS. And probably something before that. And the 'crafting'-thing is in every MMO out there, I don't see much different ways to manufacture modules for mechs.

Originally by: J'mee Leggs Full of viruses. I bet it's a scam put together to farm ISK.
The thread you link to shows a report generated by a site that runs about 20 virus-scanners on a file. Out of those 20, only three of them reported some kind of malware.
McAfee, Norton, Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG and many others all said it was perfectly OK.
Of the tools that reported problems, a total of 2 different trojans were found.
"Full of Viruses". Yeah, whatever.
I'm pretty sure you could take just about *any* executable and submit it to that site and *some* of the tools would report something nasty.
If you had any of the above tools on your PC and you scanned this file, it would come back as clean. I'm not sure how often these tools are wrong but I wouldn't be too worried about viruses.
However, it could still be a giant scam, the gameplay videos look real enough but they also look boring as hell, I'd stay away just to avoid wasting time on it.

Im sorry to say it, but the user interface looks better than Eve's.
Perhaps this can motivate CCP to do something about it.

oh, how disappointing. Then again, its not really too much of an issue with low copy times on t1 stuff, and no t2 bpos... But actually.
Hey ccp, while they are ripping you off, rip off that idea I like it. Blane Xero > Lance is at -0.9 sec status with a 1 million bounty. LAnce is also amarrian. Thats 3 evil points |
