My game doesn't remember my settings so each time I log in I have to cancel the tutorial, reset all my windows, set my graphic setting etc etc ... every time I log in :((
I've deleted and reinstalled eve but my problem still exsists. Any constructive help and I'll be forever in debt.

check to see if you eve directory, or more specifically, your 'cache' folder within your eve directory is 'read only'. this will prevent the game 'remembering' your personalised settings.
EDIT: tho check this, right click the directory and click 'properties' make sure the read-only check box is white (ie, not checked )
this may or may not (yea, the only two possible answers i know ) solve the problem, hope this helps you m8

Edited by: blahh on 02/11/2004 21:14:10 If that doesnt work try deleting the cache folder, itll recreate all the files.. sometimes that can solve problems, but everything will be reset to default (and you'll lose all any folders you made for bookmarks, agents etc).

But your bookmarks and agents will still be in your people and places. Just wanted to make it clear to him.

Is the drive you have EVE installed on full?

You have probably done this anyway and I doubt it will help, but try changing the way you quit the game (Esc-->Quit, go into windowed mode and click the top right X).
Did you manually edit any of the files in your eve folder (like to get it to save username/password etc)? --Pass-- |

The shutdown didn't work, and no I've never changed any of my settings by manually going into the file.

Just a dumb idea but...Is your account administrator of the computer? This might be source of troubles if not...
Check also if you havenŠt compressed the drive where Eve is installed...
Otherwise, if all your files are set to archive, you can check the security tab and add your username as full-rights member on the folder.
Hope this helps (\_/) (O.o) (> <)=Oveur (proof) "Jumping 50 systems I can like, have sex 150 times during that period" |

If you exit eve by crashing, then that's probably your problem...
When you reinstall, do you do a full reinstall or do you copy the old cache folder or something from somewhere aswell?
Uninstall EVE, delete or move c:\program files\ccp\eve (or wherever you installed it) and then install this.
Seems like you've already tried this though...

Edited by: Maxon on 03/11/2004 15:59:18 Edited by: Maxon on 03/11/2004 15:57:39 I exit as normal no crashing and yes I have full admin rights on this account
I already uninstalled eve and downloaded the game from the link you gave, rarther than install from cd and I reinstalled but still the same!!
I've deleted the cache folder but u guessed it my game still doesn't remember any of my settings. None of the game "windows" settings are saved, none of my folders for people and places, I get all the tutorials, all the windows that pop up with a check box saying don't ask this again appear. This is driving me up the wall
Thanks for all the advice but is there anyone with a magic wand
