Tongued a metal pole in the middle of the coldest winter. Haven't felt the need to try painful things after that.

I dismantled a computer power supply unit while it was still plugged in and powering a computer as it was the only method I had at the time to check the PSU was working. Finger slipped and I was wide awake for a few days after that. Oddly enough, apparently i didn't learn from that because while changing a lightbulb once (in the dark) I couldn't tell if it was on or off so i felt around for the slot for the lightbulb, Fingers went too far. Shocking. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Oh christ no, the knowledge I gained from the incident was directly offset by the handful of braincells that died that night. I did however learn to respect Tripswitches. Otherwise i may have been quite literally the opposite of Awake. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Edited by: Alexeph Stoekai on 31/10/2009 17:22:55 The only thing that comes to mind is from when I was a kid and decided to defy a warning sticker on an escalator telling people not to place their feet at the side edges of the steps. I evidently thought this was a *******s warning and proceeded to inch my foot to the side edge. What followed was the worst jolt of static electricity I've ever experienced. It wasn't very painful, but I recall it striking from my foot through my body, feeling as if it struck through my tongue.
That's the only stupid painful thing I've done on purpose that I can recall at the moment, not counting stuff like hangovers and other results of drunken debauchery. -----

You could have made your balls numb first by applying a frozen metal pole on them. If you don't want your balls to become permanently stuck to the pole(frozen), just pour some warm water on them after you have pulled out the hairs.

Edited by: Kravick Drasani on 31/10/2009 20:54:24 Edited by: Kravick Drasani on 31/10/2009 20:52:52 I smacked my elbow with the claw end of a hammer to protect my friend from going to jail. I did it at an angle so as not to get it stuck in. Hurt like hell too.
As to why, long story short property damage was involved and before the cops showed up we made up this story that I tripped and fell and my elbow went through the window. No arrests where made. -

When I was very small and a set of "Ghostbusters" branded walkie-talkies had been bought for me as a gift I was overjoyed, However, as soon as the 9v batteries powering them went flat I wasn't best impressed. So I think to myself "Where can I get batteries.." and came to the conclusion that I couldn't, However, I decided that as batteries hold electricity and so does the main supply of the house that it would make a fine substitute.
I wired up the handsets to the sockets, switched them on an was amazed as nothing at all happened. Picking one up, putting it to my head and pressing the "Send" button though... I woke up a few hours later in hospital.
I remember the feeling just before I went out, it was like every part of my body was being touched and pushed gently, almost like being laminated I suppose.
The handset melted some time after I'd dropped it because the tripswitch never did it's job, apparently the only indication that something had happened was the lights flickering in the living-room.

When I was about 3 or 4 my parents were refurbishing their house, hanging new wallpaper and stuff; so the plastic covering for the elctrical sockets were removed in some of the rooms. My parents got the bright idea to tell me not to touch or go near them. What does a boy, like me at that age do? I not only touched the socket, I licked it.. My mother happened to watch me at that precise moment and did what any sane mother would do, she totally freaked out. And I started crying. I must have missed the eletrical cords because I never got shocked, apart from my mother screaming and all.
I also kept stealing the retractable knife they used to cut the wallpaper with, but I managed not to hurt myself with that too.
So, I didn't literally hurt myself but you can't blame me for not trying. Anyway Benco's story reminded me of this so enjoy!

I was really good friends with this guy in high school who had a pair of Boxer dogs. These dogs were really muscular (and being Boxers, hyperactive) and he explained to me that if they got out, they'd be gone, which is why they put electric shock collars on them when they went outside.
A few weeks later, I was staying over at his house for the night and his dad dared me to put the collar on before dinner. So, I put the collar on around my neck, clicked the buckle, walked over to the end of the yard, and stuck my head over the edge of the grass (where the wire was buried)...
Nothing happened.
"Yo, Firecrotch, try it again!"
I bend down and put my head over the edge of the lawn again...
Nothing happens.
His dad goes back inside, retrieving a screwdriver, and takes the collar off my neck and proceeds to adjust a screw on the inside (near the giant metal prongs).
"Try it now."
I bend my head over the edge of the grass and am greeted by the single most unpleasant pulsing sensation around my Adam's apple. I can't really remember if it hurt or not, because of the pulsing thing. I ripped that collar off my throat and was done with it.
There.

The only thing that springs to mind is eating a lantern chilli back in the days when I had zero tolerance to chilli. Trickle feeding lager down my throat for a while eased the immediate effects, and I thought it was an easy ú5 bet won. I shat myself 'out of the blue' just after walking into the pub for Sunday lunch the next day though.

Does that count though, if the alternative is worse? Sticking a syringe in your abdomen doesn't hurt anyway, I used to do that for 'fun' back in my lost days.

Was at a relatives b-day party and on the table was a tea-light candle - you know the things the small roundish candles in a little metal tub thingy, anyways they were placed in a small glass.
My dad turns to me and says bet you can't put the candle out with your hand. He shows me how its done - places his hand over the top of the glass - starves it of oxygen till it goes out. takes his hand off and sits there amused.
My grandfather does it also - takes his hand off after putting it out and sits there amused.
Now i try - but they heat is too hot - so i leave it a little while later into the night , i do it again but this time without any warning my dad grabs my hand as i place it on the glass and keeps it held down, until it goes out.
i had a nice little blister there , and a scar in the palm of my hand, 2 years on :O
Another unpleasent moment was when i was about 6-7 - at on a see-saw my sister on one side her friend on the other - i decided to sit in the middle - with a leg over each side - not the smartest thing to do when wearing popper pants - they were all the rage every kid had a pair , but as the see-saw went up and down - literally 2 inch away from my ballsack the skin on my inner thigh got caught in the the middle of the see-saw, man i cant remember anything hurtin so muchwas lucky not to trap my ballssack in there - or i would of been screaming even more ;)
