umm i thought there used to be a AF AB bonus feedback thread ... also it doesnt mention anything about it in the patch notes. Did they scrap the idea? I dont visit this forum much so if i missed it, i'm sorry for making another thread about it. But what exactly happened with that idea/change?

ccp abandoned the idea in favour of a 2% increase across the board to resists Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

that sucks ... i was really looking forward to that bonus... Did they mention any plans to implement a 4th bonus later? 2% resists seems kinda lackluster.

Is that true? Because that's dumb... Part of the original problem with the assault ship bonus was that it had a 5% per-level bonus to resists based on frigate level, however, it wasnt applied and it just had a native high resist, as most T2 ships currently have. That text was removed in Trinity if I remember correctly, but that just returns the same sillyness to the forefront. ------------------------ Peace through superior firepower: a guiding principle for uncertain times. |

well remember ccp are pretty unoriginal and constrained in their balancing= much of the same everywhere. SO the 2% across the board resist boosts allows AFs to survive a little longer and still end up as slow ships that they are Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

personally a web bonus of 10% speed reduction when webbing frigate and destroyer class weapons would be a good role placeholder

"Thanks folks for the feedback!
We have got the message from this individual change that low sec/faction warfare pvp'ers feel it will be either overpowered or not good enough and some one vs one encounters on sisi showed some interesting results which varied between the ships.
For now, thanks for the feedback on this particular change and the other suggestions which have been made thus far. We'll post again with the next iteration of the changes when they are ready for feedback soon!"
Where does it says that those changes have been completely scrapped?

Where does it say that those changes have been completely scrapped?
The likelihood of them being scrapped is pretty good considering the discussion in that thread. A cookie-cutter solution to AFs isnt a good idea in any case because each of the ships has different flying styles. 2% resist seems like the dumbest bonus ever and I suspect rumor mongering. If AFs need resists, its not to damage but to hostile effects since they are way too easily neuted/webbed/jammed/disrupted then die horribly. ------------------------ Peace through superior firepower: a guiding principle for uncertain times. |

Such a shame they blew the "overheat resistance" bonus on the sad fail T3 hulls, would have been ideal for the AFs .. each able to magnify its strengths for a longer period with cheap repair costs.
The AB buff was far too generic and ended up benefiting just a few while doing nothing for most. Much better to hold off and do it right than create a hole you have to spend ages digging yourself out of.
CCP has been very good with gathering feedback and trying out the big-ticket items in Dominion. Lot easier to make stuff work right if you have hundreds of people poking holes in faulty assumptions. Kudos to them.

tbh though they could use a little more speed, they are slow as hell as it is with an AB. I was hoping they would reduce the speed bonus if 15%(?) did turn out to be to much. I would have liked to see 10%. The resists on the AFs are nice, but its hard to reach the target for tackle if your moving along at 1100 m/s and the other guy has a MWD. Now i know your gonna say "fit a MWD" but that would just be suicide if the other ship has a scram. Another 300m/s while using a ab, while not a huge change i could see it helping quite a bit. Also it would give them a more definitive role rather then a frig worth as much as a BC with high resists and a little more dps. Hell i'd be happy with 200 more m/s with an AB
