I was recently asked for my limited access API key to join my current corp... and was wondering what they use to view my information?
I know how to retrieve my API key... but I would like to know what info they see.... and what they use to view it?
IE... I would like to know what program is used to retrieve information via limited access keys?
Thanks for any help! :)

Shows what shows in full and what is shows in limited.
As long as you don't send them your user name in the string then it should be fine. You can always change the API to prevent future tracking.

Sending a limited API ID and Password (not username and password to log in) simply lets a corp see your trained skills, wallet, and other toon on that account. They probably plugged that information into EveMon to view it. It also allows them to see all toons on the account so that they can check employment histories and make sure you have no ties to enemies.
Sending a Full API ID and password will allow someone to view pretty much anything about you. Current assets, market transactions, stuff like that. For instance, if there was corp theft and the corp had everyone's full API's, they could check everyone for any stolen assets or funny market transactions.
But for the love of God, don't become one of those people who say "I would never give out my API to someone, i'm not stupid, I'm not gonna get hacked, its no one's business, etc. etc.". Neither limited nor full API give anyone the ability to hack your account. They can't log into the game, they can't access your assets, they can't do ANYTHING but VIEW what should be non-sensitive information. No one is gonna grab your credit card info and buy a new car because you gave them your limited or full API.

Thanks for the info guys! :)
Ya.. I'm not worried about being hacked.... I trust CCP not to give us keys to hand out to other people that would basically give them access to our accounts! XD
I am just curious to see what they see is all :)
Thanks again!

The other info you need for a API key to work its called User ID(both can be found there ). Use the proprer name of the things. (or you look like a idiot that think giving out half of your login info its harmless)

I like to play this game because it make my in-game actions and archievments to mean something in-game. |
