A corp mate and I have spent the last few days uncovering and crippling F.A. mineral supply lines deep in the Fountain region. Equipped for quick kills and stealth get-aways, my wingman and I found ourselves trapped in the 75FA-Z constellation with a handful of Fountain Alliance members guarding the gates.
One F.A. member, Sin Angel, requested to fight my Ares with his Raptor (a fair fight indeed) one versus one. 50 jumps from home and an empty wallet, I wanted to make sure his five friends in local wouldn't join our duel. My wingman gave his word not to gang warp in to our safe spot but Sin Angel declined, so I gave Sin Angel my trust by letting him create the gang. He would have the upper hand - he would pick the location of the fight (his own made safe spot), and being the gang leader there was no way my wingman could warp in. The enemy made wild claims that my wingman could find safe spots in under two minutes, but after a long discussion a gang invite finally appeared on my screen. Trusting Sin Angel and the rest of his F.A. friends in local, as well as the terms of engagement that he made up himself, I clicked accept.
The next thing I know I'm staring at a 'Gang Fellows' window of five or six people and I catch the last part of a discussion in the enemy gang chat: "I will have instalock here." I quickly jumped from moon to moon while waiting for the 'Leave Gang' command to execute.
As an ex-F.A. member, I made the mistake of giving Sin Angel the benefit of the doubt. Although she had the upperhand, that person felt the need to disregard any bit of honour, as did the rest of the F.A. members in her gang. Sin Angel went back on her own terms of engagement. Even though she and her friends are the enemy, I still felt betrayed. I had never had a single experience with F.A. breaking their word - until that moment.
I contacted Insane Angel, the CEO of EVE Marshals and an important icon in the Fountain Alliance, and explained the situation. I mentioned that it wasn't the end of the world.. I was just disappointed to see such a lack of honour. Insane Angel took this very seriously and promised the violator would receive punishment in the next day. He said, "If I cant stand for something right I will not stand at all." This has to be one of the most valiant statements I've heard in EVE.
Tekforce (my wingman) and I have been promised a safe attendance to the execution of this punishment. Although I feel this is making a big deal about something relatively minor, I am very interested to see if Insane Angel, EVE Marshals, and the Fountain Alliance go through with this. If Tekforce and I leave the ceremony unharmed in enemy space, we shall have a newly found and deeply rooted respect for the once in my eyes honourable Fountain Alliance.

Well ofcourse it is a sad thing, but i do not understand why people still do 1v1. Just to show off you are better ? You know in front this will be an action that can easily be done and has been done hundreds of times. And yet you participate in the One-on-One. Foolish if you ask me.
And i dont think you should expect sympathy from FA, since you where trespassing.

1 v 1's are a part of Eve that are never going to go away and I don't believe they should. There's nothing wrong with two warriors agreeing to face off against one another. What we need is a 1v1 button that limits the gang size to 2 players. That would settle this lame ass tactic of using a 1v1 to ganks someone.
Personally I'd kick out of my corp and put on KOS forever anyone who broke a 1v1 agreement. BNC has quite publically won and lost such arrangements but so long as both pilots concerned had fun then who gives a ****?
If you have to cheat at a 1v1 then you need to go stick your head in a gas oven for a few hours.
It's exceedingly sad that 1 v 1 's have become so untrustworthy.

As EX-FA and now BoB, i have seen a change in attitude by FA over the last 6 months
When Xan were there we had a decent relationship with them
but since the major founding corps have left FA they have become dishonest and untrustworthy
Witness thier attack on CFS, which pretty much was un-provoked, and went back on a long running trade arrangement with XAN/FA
Witness thier attack on Evol ships, after 18 months of amicable freindship, FA's "new" leadership unwilling to "smooth" the matter over and causing a painful BoB response.
Witness FA's going back on a deal made just last weekend to get an apology and a return to the status quo, by killing another 3 Evol ships
To be honest i would rather 1v1 with a CA/TPS/GN pilot than trust an FA pilot!

If only George Bush played Eve. We could get him to get a "grand" alliance together and we could go "free" FA from itself.

correct me if i'm wrong here but didn't evolution attack first and fa took on your side of the story because u caught them when their defences were down?

from what i can read about the deal:
Originally by: SirMolle Thank you Fountain, we're now packing up and will be vacating.
weren't these evolution members shot in fountain after they refused to leave?

Evol did not initiate any hostilities. FA did, FA pays.
FA paid and went back on an agreement, like SirMolle has already informed the public.
FA will pay again, when we decide to make them. _______________________________________________
