I'm new to corp management, and can't figure out how the corp hangars work. I have two offices (.5, .4) and want to share items between them using the corp hangars.
I put some tritanium in the .5 corp hangar then went to the .4 office to see if they were linked, but they are not.
How can I get the two hangars to share items between them?
Thanks EVEntually |

A little more information would be helpful.
I know for a fact you can share items between corp hangars, because we did it in the old corp i was in (i just wasnt the one to set it up).
If im confused or missing something, please explain. Just saying "you cant" without an explanation of WHY isnt helpful. EVEntually |

In that case you know a wrong fact.
"You can't." is as complete an answer as you can get, because you can't.
The only way to move items between stations is to actually move them by ship (or have someone move them by ship).

Alright, maybe I'm confused but I seem to remember being able to share ammo thru corp hangars at any station we had an office at. EVEntually |

This.
Why would we have a whole line of ships specifically devoted to moving materiel (industrials/freighters) if one could simply 'link' hangars between systems and magically have access to the items.

Yes you are undeniably confused. Maybe you saw the same ammo in multiple stations and assumed it was the same supply or something. --------------------------------------------

I understand the niche for industrial s and freighters, but I'm not confused about the same ammo in multiple stations, because i was asked at one point to drop ammo in my local corp hangar for a player who was at the other office, in another region...and watched it disappear as he took it out on his end.
I chalked up the nice for the transports as you could only do it between stations you have an office at, hence needing to transport it to jita or tash since there are no avail offices and rent would be a bil a month.
This might have been removed as a game mechanic as im thinking back over a year and a half at this point. EVEntually |

I am sure what you saw was someone else in the corp grabbing the ammo so he could transport it to the other station.

I have been playing since early 2005 and what you are describing has not been possible in that time period, and from my understanding of EVE, has never been possible.
You are mistaken, accept it. The only way for any item in game to move from one location to another is by putting it into the hold of a ship and taking it there. Period. --------------------------------------------

The human mind and especially its memory are notoriously unreliable.
DJ Skrull, what you remember seeing is not possible in this game and has never been possible. It must have been something else. For instance corpmate A in another region asks you to drop it in the hangar and corpmate B in the same station as you took it out. That would be the most likely explanation for what you claim happened.

What could have confused you here is most likely one person with two accounts. You are talking to them and their main is 20 jumps away, but their alt is in the station where you are. He says 'got it' over Vent or TS and you assume it's his main (20 jumps away), but his alt just picked up the items from the corp hangar in the same station you're in.
Another possibility is that they had remote access to the hangar - they right click and deliver the items into their own hangar. The items have only moved from one hangar to another, but are still in the same station. Again the phrase 'got it' could have been uttered, meaning they have the goods in possesion, but they haven't moved out of the station.
As said above - goods can only be moved by loading them into a ship of some kind (barring some sort of GM magic).
I'm just speculating on how you may have thought it was possible - those are two totally rational explanations for what you saw and what you perceived from what you saw. You're not going mad after all
