You realize that totally defeats the most likely goal of the OP right?
Not bannable and I approve. Carebear tears are best tears. One of these days CCP might actually fix the ISK vs reward f***up that is high sec lvl 4 missions and carebears may be enticed down to null so their tears are even easier to harvest.

Originally by: John Caffeine I can't believe there are players out there who would even consider doing these horrible things. Eve is about cooperation and helping eachother, not ruining other player's day. I can only hope CCP comes to their senses and remove griefing and non-consensual pvp. I suggest you offer to help missionrunners instead of trying to grief them. In fact, I would like to extend a hand and give you a chance to join me in my own missionrunning. I know some good agents out in low security space that I'm sure would give missions enjoyable for both of us. The missions can be somewhat difficult at times tho, so make sure you have a good battleship fitted and ready. A CNR or Golem would probably be your best choice. Please, convo me ingame when you come to sensses and you decide you want to be one of the good guys.
I see what you did there...

Originally by: Sliaria N Ano, it's legal, and the most annoying way to do it is to target the ship the MR is already shooting at, and alpha strike it so you get the last hit. It'll be real easy to do with the changes to artillery in Dominion.
Someone hasn't read the bounty memo?
Bounties are given to person with highest % of damage done to the npc, not killing blow.
To OP, I've done this in the past. Its lots of fun. ♥

I beg to differ. The bestest of best tears are those from the so-called "tear collectors" (such as yourself?). They contain all the vitamins and minerals found in carebear tears plus they're rich in iron-y and bitter hyporcisy. And they're not that hard to harvest .
And you're in luck! As some seemed to have just dropped. Here, have sip:

You cant, you get KONKORDOKKEN if you do that.
I mean, actually you can, before CONCORD arrives.
I'd say you could rep me, but it would have the same effect...

Why do people play Amarr? Because unlike the other races, Amarr characters are much more difficult to play. |

I think everyone is missing what may be the most amusing possible outcome of this, namely the mission runner warping off and coming back in a salvage boat, thereby ninjaing salvage from his own mission.
This makes me smile a little bit inside.

Confirming not bannable, and probably the greatest fountain of carebear tears in eve. Its like beer bonging tears. Getting the mission completion item and contracting it back for millions also works wonders.

How does one 'scan down mission'? How does it effect my standings if my mission is intercepted/sabotaged? Can the intercepting party complete the mission/objective and claim the reward for themselves?
Personally, I don't think it should be bannable and, to my limited noob experience, it probably isn't. You get a mission, you get on it. I don't see how a mission can be spotted fast enough to be fully intercepted if you just don't dink around.
I've run about a mission a day since I got here and always get them completed in a quarter of the time allotted or less. Several missions gave me almost a full day to complete a leg that only took fifteen minutes. Only one mission leg took me longer than the allotted time and I would have welcomed someone mashing the NPCs ahead of me. I would still have been able to mark it "complete". I lost four ships on that mission leg; it would have been cheaper if someone jumped in and "stole" the bounty. Not really stealing IYTAI. Whomever shoots down the NPC rat/enemy/whatever deserves the reward.
Am I missing something here?
Or is there really some way to know what a player's mission is just by scanning them?

Oh, golly gee whiz! You can scan people? Kinda like I've been doing with that ship scanner since my third day? Wow! You're stupid.
I was NOT asking how to/if I can scan people and their ships, which is covered in the EVElopedia and one of the early tutorial missions. I was asking how to scan down a mission. Next time, READ THE POST before you try to get insulting with the RTFM BS. The amount of effort you spent linking to LMGTFY is more than it'd take to just say "Yes, you moron." or "no"; and you still would've been answering a question I didn't even ask.
I find it amusing when people work harder at being lazy or unhelpful than they would have if they'd actually helped or done the job assigned. You were so eager to assume that I don't know how to use Google or the EVElopedia that you didn't even read the question before answering. "How do I get to th-" "GREEN!!!!! RTFM you idiot!!!" >8>{ "Ummm. . . What??"
*closes tap*
>>>The main question I was asking was: How does one "scan down mission"?<<<
>>>For the noobs: The actual answer to my question has nothing to do with scanning someone's ship or looking at their profile to see what mission they're on, but probing a system for mission complexes, like drones and NPCs, in deadspace. Warp to there, shoot anything that blinks at you and nab the loot and chances are, you just short circuited someone's mission.
I found the answer while learning how to use my probes. Learn to use your probes, and you can scan down missions too. In fact, you're essentially scanning down missions every time you scan a system; even if you're looking for something else. It's covered in the EVElopedia and even on Youtube. Frankly, it looks like fun and a good source of tears. <<<

I heartily approve. Reminds me of when I salvaged someone's mission, they warped off... I got bored of waiting so I completed the mission myself. I ransomed the objective item to them for 1bil.
The market value of their ship is a 'fair' amount to ransom for, don't you think? On another note, how do you like your pods in the morning? |
