So, yesterday I was tricked, quite convincingly, that I was receiving help from someone offering to assist me with mining. After several minutes of chat I warped out and left my drones, (stupid mistake), so he picked them up and put them in a cargo container, which I took (another stupid mistake). Well the rest is history, he warp scrambled me and then his buddies came along and blew me up. I felt betrayed. And now i'm just really mad! And it's not the fact that I got killed that makes me mad, it's the fact that I got killed while minding my own business. To make matters worse apparently they had been the ones responsible for stealing my cargo container full of ore earlier and had been waiting to kill me for a while.
So to the point. I WANT REVENGE on these guys! Maybe not now, but someday I want to screw them over like they did to me.
Does anyone know how I can do to get these guys back in a manner fitting what they deserve?

You could offer a bounty for him (and his friends) or perhaps hire a small merc outfit to make his life miserable

since they did the steal can techique I think there not stupid and they know what there doing so it will require some skillz on your side. For that, well without going into lots of details, you can always try the can trick to them and hope they take the bait and then start shooting. simple as that but sometimes not always like that.
You usually take a cheap stupid little ship so they shoot you. Once they do and probably blow up your stupid little ship, get the bigger badder, meaner, wtfpwnbbq ship that vomits doom on him. make him pay at that moment.
For setup and what type of ship thats entirely up to you and him ofc..thats dynamic and hard to say since theres lots of ship to pvp in. But a good general popular ship would be the dominix (search ship and modules for setup's).

Revenge is petty and dangerous, but damned if it isn't three times as sweet if you get it yourself than hire a Merc. Though it does get addictive.

hey.
i'm -10 and could probably kill you easily, but if you trust me and are willing to take a chance i'd be able to show you some **** in lowsec, maybe bring u along on some fights. use to train newbies as a hobby in highsec.
also who did it to you, i'm curious?

Don't waste your time with them. Chances are, since you're new and they're not, they'll use it to make more ISK.
Don't place a bounty on him. It's a waste of money and will just boost his ego. If it's high enough it will make it more likely that he'll get podded, but there's also a decent chance he'll get a buddy to pod him so that he can collect the bounty.
P.S. - I'm a pirate and I purposefully **** people off by smacking in local, etc. so that they do stupid things and try to get "revenge" on me so I can kill them again. It's exactly like getting inside someone's head in sports. Don't let these guys get inside your head and mess up your game. :)

Tbh, I'd trust the word of -10.0 pirates more than most other people. Sec status has nothing to do with how much you can trust a person, really. In fact, most -10.0 players I've met tend to be more polite, more helpful etc than the average 5.0 hisec bear (and more knowledgable too).

I've never seen revenge work, where it didn't cost much more than you lost. Unless you can get a spy to get into their corp and stay in it for a few months or years and earn trust and get rolls and then take corp wallet, assets and if you have time before they notice what's going on dismantle stations, If you have any alt that is just sitting training anyway it may be worth it, but I would suggest joining some wh corp afterwards unless you want to be hunted down.

Holding grudges never worked either if it was IRL or EVE... suck it up... learn from this and maybe one day it will be just you and the person in cause in a low sec system  . As somebody said it before - lock and F1 F2 F3 etc! Pretty simple!

There is only one good advice to be given here, and that is: Get over it!
It is gonna happen again, no matter what you do... so let it go. Use your time to do what you wanna do..
I also tell you why you should let it go. 2 reasons.
1) They will kill you again. They have been here longer, they are better at PvP.
2) To hire Mercs is excpencive. And what is stopping them frome griefing you afterwards?
You see... there is only one way out of this loop. Get over it!

Best way to realy get to them is create an alt and join up with them. Get the needed standings in their corp and then screw them over big time.
If they complain about it just say it is youre idea of having fun in a game :)
Not to mention you could get a few isk out of it.

From what I can tell, you were on your own when this happened. Notice how the griefers were in a group and worked as a team?
The very best thing you can do is join a player-run corp. While you can solo in Eve, there is strength in numbers. If you were in a corp you could have called for backup - or not got into that situation in the first place.
Eve is a harsh place and nowhere is completely safe. I was like you long ago but getting scammed and griefed made me HTFU and now I'm a hardcore PVPer in 0.0 (this is an alt btw).

You should of got a pop up box warning you before you took from his can.
Those warnings are there for a reason.
If anyone wants to give you stuff in the future tell them to dock up and trade the items with you.
If they make excuses and refuse to dock you know they mean you no good.
As for revenge thats going to take time. Add them to your adress book and wait untill you know more about the game.
Once you got some experiance under your belt you can decide for yourself what to do.
To be ohnest these things make you angry at first but after some time you look back on it as a very good leson learned.
