I think the idea of paying for sov is messed up, getting fuel for pos's makes sense (if you want to have something running need to give it supplys/energy), but paying concord for a lawless space which they never touch or have no influence in, come on, they don't own it, they barely have a influence in empire space low sec let along nul sec, from a 'realism' or storyline perspective how does it make sense, do evil-npc regions which border nul sec give money to concord (I wouldn't think so, each communicates with each other with lethal force), I would find it hard to imagine the likes of sansha nation or the blood raiders sending envoys to some police force in empire space to give them money to keep in their atrocious pirate empires.

Hypothetically a player made organization like goonswarm or another major alliance that regularly disregards concords laws (fitting into eves ongoing story), doing creative things like suicide ganking high sec miners thatÆs even worse then what the NPC pirates do, so should concord which has no presence in their space have a claim to asking for money, and would it make sense for them to ever communicate with them, other then putting up wanted posters?

So the idea is messed up, and if price is too high to claim sov in too many areas I think necessary posÆs will stay up without claiming everything and give them more fuel (so much in extra fuel per day may be less then the millions or billions I hear that could be daily).

My predictions:

You will see more 500-800 man alliance taking systems (1-5) that are empty because big alliance like Goons/PL can't afford to have SOV in this many systems.

This will cause more smaller fleet fights with different entities. This could turn out to be some good old fight where a 3rd party jumps in and starts shooting the 1st two sides fighting with a possibility of a 4th coming to the show.

This will also eliminate big alliance napping each other on other sides of the map. They will no longer be able to travel 65 jumps with a cyno network so they will no longer be able to defend 2 places that faraway.

I expect to see more regional fights.. Kinda like Scalding pass versus catch or something along these lines.

I'm excited for the patch because I feel like we will all end up getting more PVP and less lag.

I agree, Pandemic Legion is holding way to much space compared to alliances like Atlas. How does PL manage all those systems with the current SOV requirements?
