The major problem about comments like those on mmorpg.com are that its a well known fact, that if 100 people like something, only a few of them will tell others or comment on the game saying how good it is. But if those 100 people HATE the game then the massive majority will post negative comments about the game cause they are annoyed that they dont have the time or patience to get into a game such as EVE.
Thats why i never judge a game on the comments made on websites.

The wonder of the Miner I, it was the bees knees. Wow an indy, it was the bees knees. LOL

I think CCP need to do more to entice the hardcore Everquesty and Diablo II style players to play and enjoy this game.
Putting some wizards in it would be a good start.
These people actually dress up as rangers and monks when they are playing you know.
Surely that has to be good for the Eve community, and these guys should be our target market.

What I have found is this:
Intelligent people play EVE,

It is boring in some parts. Im just moving into my 3rd month, where skills take 1day+ to train. It's boring, but there is plenty you can do while your waiting.
But im not going to explain it if they did not take the time to play it.

The problem with EVE is that content makes it more boring and contentless for nubs. Its just more time till they get to the good stuff. Its just ore time till they can do what everyone else is doing and maybe become competitive.
To really work for nubs EVE should a constant supply of new people. Nomatter howmuch CCP would want that, its just not gonna happen so basically the only nubs that get to be non nubs in EVE are people with patience and alot of spare time. Is that good or bad? No idea!

but I do agree on some of the points...
when you are a newbie to this game..it would look like its all about mining...I use my 2 first days mining..just to get my frigate...a merlin...yea..we dont all play 24 hours a day..
after getting my merlin I tried some combat..just to find out that it was a hell of a battle..just to tell a few rats...not very funny....
next I found out, that some players just like to kill you..because they can..I was going to get a blueprint for my ammo...and got killed...on my approach to a gate..
VERY later on..I found out about the security system... 1.0 or 0.4 and all that
those thinks was not in the manual..I got killed in 0.4
so...it can look boring for newbies...
but..I stayed...
but I can see what the people mean...it can look very boring...
and I also tried pvp..but unless you train for like 10 years...forget it...

But I personally find EvE teh best game ever. Space could be utterly boring space, but who cares when ya can fly around in yer ship and look at all that vastness?
I actually hope that space in EvE would be more free, like you could set ship warping in some defined coordinates.. Like the all space in systems would be in use.. Not only planetsides and other objects.
